Okay so a while back someone posted a thread about having a purple line up their butt crack and it meant dilation.

Okay well I must admit I sat there laughing at all these people checking their butt cracks :haha:
Bit today I bent down infront of my full length mirror and thought I saw something. So I admit I had to look and I have those huge deep purple line.

I wonder it this means I will go early again at 38 weeks.

I must admit I am a bit tempted to get up and check my butt crack now...:shhh:

I've had a line for ages but it's more red than purple. I was going to check mine later when I get up xx

I refuse to look. I don't want to know what else is weird about my body! I don't think I can move in a way that I could see that right now anyway... :)

Haha, well make sure u let us know hunni cos I'll be certainly stalking this - and possible monitoring my rear end for the next few weeks :haha: xx

LOL! I'm only 27 weeks, but I got a kick out of this thread! Boy, our bodies go through some crazy stuff while pregnant!

Ok, i couldnt resist! I checked and I've got it too! I wonder if its to do with the extra pigmentation we get during pregnancy, like the linea nigra. Surely I cant be dilating at 31 weeks?

Ha ha like someone else suggested we need a "line progression thread".

Could you imagine some of the first tri mums stumbling across it. They would be like :argh: why did sneak a peek over in 3rd tri.

Eta: I didn't have this line on Saturday. ( I wasn't checking for it, but I was checking out a hemerroid situation and it wasn't there)

Haha lmao, that would be hilarious

I mentioned this to my aunt awhile back when that thread was posted. She's been checking religiously the past couple of weeks, haha. (Yeah she's a perv! :haha:) Apparently I have it too.

Lol, I've had this line for months so apparently it doesn't mean anything! But maybe it will get darker when labour starts.. hopefully I'll remember to check, ha!

I remember telling my husband about the first thread, coz he wanted to know " whats so funny"

I'm not sure if when I woke him from nightshift this afternoon and told him to check out my buttcrack if he still found it amusing..

But he said now he will have to tell his work that I could go anytime now.. ( ha ha I doubt it)

I can only imagine the conversation.

Hey bud, just letting you know I need to be ready any time now coz my wife has a purple ass. :dohh:

So there I was, 9 months pregnant and bending over in front of my mirror and peering critically at my ass. In walks my Hublet, split second later Hublet walks back out with a very confuzzled expression. I dont know why he's confuzzled as he had to inspect my butt after the first thread cane up a few weeks back about the line! :haha:

Apparently you have a red line and it goes darker as you go into labour. I think it is meant to progress higher as you dilate further xx

I totally have never heard of such a thing. I don't believe that at all I am afraid.

I had to get up and check and mine is purplish red! What does this mean? I would appose to going in early!!

It's true, this does happen. Its a really dark purple line, that extends with increasing dilation but I do wonder if your a multipara whether it stays a little after the birth, I have a slight purple line too. X

Well I got curious and checked. I dont have the one on my belly. There is some some dark purple in my bum... I was not dilated at all on Monday and probably won't be tomorrow... If it's a sign of labor I'm okay with it being purple!!!
