I dont have a CLUE what to do with babies!!!
Im the baby of my whole family... the last born since 19 years ago haha!
I have no experience of helping with kids...
And now, before the week is out, Ill be a mum to my very own child!
OH MY GOD.
What have I let myself in for?! xD

Anyone else in a similar situation?
Or have any tips please?
lol, oh dear :p

Ur maternal instinct will kick in as soon as baby is born trust me

I didnt like children before my 1st and had no idea what to do - within a couple of hours u would have thought I had been doin it for years

Trust your instinct - everyone has great advice some unwanted advice too - do what u feel is natural :)

Yup...I agree with lisabee...it somehow just comes to you naturally. Don't worry :)

i'm in the same boat! i'll have my mom to help me and friends for support, but i really hope i learn quickly and feel the amazing love for my baby i hope to feel.

dont worry gem.. i dont have a clue either..

it will take time and practise and youre never gunna get everything right first time...

but ya well learn very quick and will be a great mum to ollie.. so dont worry yaself too much :) xx

Btw.. Gem.. on your signature thing on here.. the 11th april is a monday.. not a thursday :p xx

You're instincts will kick in! After delivery a nurse and/or doctor will probably go through some stuff with you and hand you literature as well. You always have the internet to look things up too.

When I had my first daughter I was lucky to have my mom there, but when my daughter's umbilical cord started to fall off I lost my mind. I thought "her guts were falling out"....I cried and tried to gently hold them in while yelling for my mom. She rushed in and was panicked because of my yelling. After I told her what was wrong she thought quickly and grabbed a band-aid, placed it over Brittany's umbilical cord and said, "See? She's fine honey. Get some sleep, you really need it." So, I did. A few hours later my mom woke me up and presented my baby girl who had a fresh new belly button!

My point is that there are times when you just don't know what's happening but rely on anyone you can to help you. You learn quickly how to deal with things and they become natural. You'll do great :hugs:

I'm having my baby right now! and OMG i am freaking about having to be a parent! i have no clue what so ever !!!! But 'm just hoping what the other ladies have said is true and it just takes over :) Im sure we'll all be wonderful mummys
xxx

dont worry hun im the same im terrified that i wont know what to do when she arrives x

Lol I figure I will learn 'on the job' :D But not to worry I don't have a clue either, I have absolutely no baby experience, like others said your instincts will kick in xx

Me and my OH had never held a baby between us until our 1st was born - The MW asked us if she wanted us for her to dress him - we said no and she left us in the room with him and we didnt have a clue what to do with him!
We managed it - you learn something new all the time and quickly get to know what your baby wants and needs etc - can take a few weeks but your going by cries and noises!

there are no babies in my family either, plus i dont really like other peoples!!!!!!!!!, im going to be one of those only interested in my own, so i often have the OMG thoughts that youre having!

I'm the same. I just don't do babies. I have no idea what to say to them, I hold them in the one position and freak out when they cry, bit as others have said I'm sure maternal instinct will kick in and I'll be at ease with my own child. Here's hoping anyway!

You'll be fine! As soon as you get your LO in your arms, you'll know exactly what to do :flower:

Ohh thanks for pointing that out Alanna :p I dont know why I put 11th, it was meant to be 7th haha! Silly me!

And thanks everyone. Still crapping one like but suppose Ill learn one way or another xD
Ahh scary!

your be alright lol even women who have had experiance with babies dosent make any differance its alot differant having your own and your just learn as you go along x

Don't worry, I have no idea what to do with babies either. Never been around babies. I know they require nappies (which need changing) and that they require feeding. That's about all I know about them. Apart from that they cry, etc. I have no idea what they are meant to wear (had to ask my mum about that) and have no idea whether you're meant to put a sheet in the pram etc. etc. I really ought to figure some of these things out before baby arrives :)

Londonangel - Im the exact same haha. I just know theyre little people that cant do anything for themselves really!
Looks like we have alot of learning to do and fast! xD
