Hi
I am now looking at IVF, Finances are tight and obviously most important is success rates but money is dictating alot too. Has anyone been overseas for IVF or considering or doing any research.
Presently i am researching the Dougus centre in North Cyprus andf Eugin in Barcelona, although Im trying to find valid testimonials.

Any one use these or others you would recommend?
Cheers Bex

Hi

I am a Bit living overseas and about to start my first cycle of IVF in 2 weeks time.

I have chosen to come back to the UK for my treatment for a number of reasons. Firstly I have had some bad experiences with doctors where I live and DH and I are not confident that the treatment that I received was right. This has since been confirmed in the UK. I know that there are some very good clinics overseas for sure otherwise they simply wouldn't survive as a business but you really need to check them out thoroughly. I also feel that UK has some of the world's leading fertility doctors that offer the best chance of success and do not take uneccessary risks with the mothers health. I also wanted to be around friends and family when doing IVF so I could be as relaxed as possible.

I think another big factor is the cost of you staying overseas whilst receiving treatment. I will be back in the UK for nearly a month and luckily I can stay with my Mum otherwise it would cost a fortune. You would also need to consider the language barrier, I am sure that the doctors would speak good english but what about the nursing and support staff, the treatment alone is hard enough without not knowing what is really going on.

I know that I sound really negative and I am not being so intentionally. I am just saying that whilst on paper some clinics may seem so much cheaper you have to look into all of the incidental costs on top and the other factors that will come into the equation before you decide.

I wish you luck in your future treatment and really hope you get a BFP very soon:hugs:

Hi- I am going through an IVF in India and since I live here its not abroad for me. But a lot of foreigners travel here specifically for IVF as the facilities and doctors here are world class plus it costs a fraction of what it would cost in EU or UK. A lot of centers here run surrogacy programs as well.

All the best for ur IVF journey

I have read a lot about this clinic in India:

https://www.drmalpani.com/

No idea how good it is etc, but they do explain the cost comparisons and other stats on their website.

Good luck!

There are lots of good IVF centers and a loads of bad ones. The trick is to identify the right doctor. The costs also vary hugely. But just to give u an idea, I spent 1500 GBP on this IVF cycle (all inclusive with meds, tests et al). It can go upto 3000 GBP is some very fancy centers. The technology and the quality of doctors is very good. Ofcourse, I met a lot of docs till I found the one that was right for me.

Dr Malpani is in Mumbai. I dont personally know much about it as I am based in Delhi. But he does have a very fancy website :)

this is where i went (prices are under "practical information"), their lab (and docs) belong to the world top, is why they don't advertise, they have work enough as it is lol.
my FS starts his apointments 6.15am and his last one is around 8pm (if he's lucky), works 24/7

https://www.fertility-belgium.be/pages/home.php?taal=en&titel=Fertility%20Center

the other websites (from the lab and ivf center) don't have an english version

eta: obviously i'm happy with them... got my lap & dye in june and was already preggers from my first ivf cycle in august

Wow, I wish i lived somewhere else. I had an HSG two weeks ago. The bill came to 1700 $!!!! Yes insurance did cover a lot, but i still had to shell out around 250 $. And an IVF cycle can cost 10,000 $ and upwards here. so much dispariity...

have you looked at Norway? (Haugesund)
I have heard good reports and very good results from there!
x

we are having ivf in india but we will be using a surrogote got luck xx

Hi. I'm going to the Cape Fertility Clinic in Cape Town South Africa for IVf with ICSI. Not too expensive plus great place to have a holiday. They are the best in South Africa.
I have heard alot of good news about them.

Thankyou everyone who has replied. I shall look into belgium and India Anyone been to Hungary?

Uk is alot cheaper than the price of the Belgium clinic Hun, just had a look at the link :)

Please keep me updated Hun

I hears Turkey was good but cheap x

to give you an idea, max price in belgium is £3565, minimum £2376 (they don't do PGD as a standard procedure, cryo= cycle with frozen embies).
i don't know how that compares to the UK, i've read so many different numbers here already,
but do remember that to get to the maximum price in belgium you'd have to be on a hell of a lot of medication. with my cycle i barely reached the minimum price (i was on low doses of everything). so if you know you'll need high doses of medications it might not be that interesting.
also, your stay here -hotel- is not included (f.e. in turkey it is, but that wasn't exactly cheap), transport to the clinic is very easy and cheap with public transport

HI
I know we have to factor in the accomodation and flights but it is becoming prohibitive in the UK and Im sorry to say it does feel like a money making exercise here in the UK. Im not naive I know they are in int too make money but emotions run high and they charge you to fart in the UK!!
Liverpool is going to cost £2800 for IVF
£945 for ICSI
possibly £1500 for drugs as they think I will need higher drugs for the protocol I will be on.
£645 for cryogenics and storage
£1500 for FET
paid £170 for consult
£85 for AMH
may well have £105 second consult
£104 HFEA fee each IVF
So apprix £5500 I just dont have that cash. Going to Budapesh this is just one clinc and they are around the same price £2100 IVF + ICSI and accomodation 12 day stay. £550 Initial consult and accomodation
Eur1500 max for drugs awaiting a more definitie price on drugs.
£300 storage and cryo
E1000 FET
so flights around £100 each so £400
Spending money I am classing as living costs and I pay those here so not counting
so bout £4000
still cant afford it yet, but getting there I now have £3600!!!
Anyone else have good reports or have tried and most important BFPs from overseas.
Bex

There is a number of reputable clinics abroad. There are also companies like MedVacation that assist hopeful parents in their search for the right clinic. A few medical tourism facilitators also assist their clients through the process.... which is quite complex to say the least.

Hello :)

I havnt actually started IVF yet, but we are due to start in april, im à brit living in Sweden and i have found the fs appointments frustrating because of the language barrier and cultural differences, i speak ok swedish and the fs spoke good english but some of the technicle words were hard to work out, also the culture here is if you have been ttc 1 year they give you IVF.. Seemingly regardless of diagnosis,

Here in Sweden you are entitled to 3 fresh IVF cycles and 9fet (thank god for socialist gouvenments!) if we were paying I'd opt to have the treatment in the uk, just so i was not dealing with another culture and langugage whilst going through an allready hard time.

Something Else to bare in mind with scandinavian countries is that they rarely insert more than 1 embie, there is à big push to avoid twin pregnancy here, the clinic we Will be using has à 40% pregnancy rate and less than 5% multipla birth rate.

Lycke till (good luck in swdish):hugs:
