I am in my 2WW and am discouraged. I know that it's only 2 days post transfer but I just don't feel any different. Part of it too is that I came down with a cold the day of transfer and have been coughing persistently for the past 2 days. I fear I have not created a good little cozy place for those embies because of my coughing.

What side effects/pregnancy symptoms did any of you have with a :bfp: and when did it start?

Don't they say that the day of transfer is basically considered the day of ovulation? If this is the case then there's no way you'd start getting symptoms on 2dpo. The embies won't even have implanted yet. You wouldn't feel any differently until they did.

Ovulation is the day of retrieval. So, I am 8DPO now.

Hey,

Just wanted to say good luck !!! pretty sure it's a bit soon to be experiencing any symptoms so don't give up. I read somewhere after transfer you should keep your lower abdomen warm to give the emy a nice cosy warm place to nest ! Also rest as much as possible and put your feet up.

Never ever had a BFP so not able to advise on that aspect.

Keeping fingers crossed

Implantation can occur up to 10dpo, so it's still possibly (probably) too early.

Huni I know its easier said than done but try not symptom spot to much I have spoken to people that have had no symptoms in IVF 2ww & got :bfp: and others that swore they had cramping etc and :bfn:,

I had allot of cramps with my IVF/ICSI last cycle and also what I thought at one point could be implantation bleeding (turned out to be side affect of crinone gel) n I got :bfn:.......... sumtimes best symptoms is none at all if that makes sence.

Hope the next 6 days fly by so can c u :bfp: and that u feel better soon.

xx

I never felt any different at all not even untill a good while into pregnancy, i carried on getting all the pre AF symptoms at the time i would have got them.

What do you think about all the coughing? Do you think it could have an adverse effect on my outcome?

Nope i dont think so at all, ive been coughing, sneezing and all sorts and no harm has come from it.

I had some mild cramping the last time and was sure AF was coming ... the clinic said it could also be a side effect from the progesterone, as it can cause pre-AF symptoms. I didn't really have any other symptoms, but when I miscarried I felt very different - could have been all the drugs leaving my body, could have been psychological, could have been my hormones going back to normal - I'm not sure.

I had a bit of pink CM 11 days after EC which had me convinced that AF was coming. Then, 3 days later I did an IC as I was worried because my AF hadn't shown up, and I got a very faint second line.

The long and short of it is that really there are no hard and fast signs that it's worked or hasn't worked. Unfortunately, you've just got to bide your time - as hard as it is and as much as you don't need or want to hear it...

Don't panic about the coughing though. I'm sure lots of women have been in early pregnancy and had coughs/colds/or worse, and not had any adverse effects.

Hi Dana,

I am so sorry that you are sick.

Last time around I was so convinced that the IUI hadn't worked I had already pre-booked my next session and continued to go to gym right up until 12DPO when I couldn't resist doing a test and saw a faint evap so had a blood test and it was postive.
I didn't have a single symptom I don't recall until about 6 or 7 weeks preggas. I kept asking my friends when I was going to get sore boobs because I don't get it with AF and as I said that only happended much later on and I never got M/S.

Don't give up hope love, you are in with an excellent chance :hugs:

I have never made it to the transfer stage - yet - but have read that even after transfer it can still take up to 5 days for those embies to actually implant. And like the women here have said - some people feel symptoms and other don't - and both groups may or may not be pregnant.

Someone will make a LOT of money if they can figure out a way to tell immediately.

My fingers are crossed for you!

I have to say I felt ....absolutely nothing at all whatsoever. I was totally convinced it hadn't worked.

Don't worry about your cold. We had an absolutely horrendous time during our 2ww. Even now I can't believe it worked with everything that went on.

Not wishing to seem bitter....but PG symptoms always seemed to me to be something the fertile folks use to better effect. "I just KNEW I was PG straightaway". Yeah well you were only trying 3 months, I was convinced I felt something every month for years. :hissy:

Right off back under my stone again. Wishing you every possible success. Take things easy. :hugs:

I am actually very comforted to know that there are people who felt nothing and were preggers.
