So where to begin....
My pregnancy with Pud has not been an easy one, with my Lupus, Anti-Ro antibodies, SPD, Pud then measured small, I was anaemic, the whole thing was a nightmare from start to finish!
Monday was Pud's growth scan where we were going to find out what was what with his induction etc as he was small and because I have lupus they were thinking of bringing him on at 38 weeks (4th Dec).
We had the scan and Pud was still on the small side which fine, prob have him out at 37 weeks, but when they came to do my BP it had gone sky high and I was admitted into the hospital.
Whilst I was admitted I started having strong Braxton Hicks (which showed on CTG) and had some spotting overnight so the decision was made to induce me.
I sat around on the ward all day waiting for a space in delivery and finally at about 5.30pm they called me down and I was examined and had the pessary put in. I had to get to 2cm dilated to have my waters broken and a drip and I was already 1cm. I thought great this wont take long!!
By about midnight I was getting quite strong contractions and decided to have some pethedine to get a bit of sleep before the big event. However this is where it all got a bit rushed and scary. (THIS HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE PETHEDINE, I DONT WANT TO PUT ANYONE OFF USING IT)
I was hooked up to CTG because of the pethedine and I was watching the trace merrily and all of a sudden Pud's heartbeat dropped right down to 85.
I screamed at Dan to get someone and after some messing jiggling and wriggling about it came back up.
However it did it again and again with the contractions and each time the heartrate was getting lower.
The call was made to take me into an emergency c-section.
I was rushed in and had 3 failed attempts to put a canular in, OW OW OW, one straight into the nerve in my thumb, OW!
Finally the line was in my hand they could do a spinal block. This bit felt like forever and all I could hear was my little mans heartrate drop every contraction

Once I was spinalled and positioned Dan was brought in looking very fetching in his scrubs and they started to work away
About 5 mins passed with tugging and pulling and I heard the most glorious sound ever! Iwan screaming at the top of his little lungs.
This was at 3.08am.
He was cleaned up and given to Dan who brought him over for me to see and stroke and bond with While I was cooing over my little man they put the rest of me back together.
I spent an hour in recovery where I had skin to skin with Iwan and he latched on etc and then was taken up to the ward to thaw out.
This was 2 days ago now and we're all doing well. Breastfeeding isnt the easiest, infact it feels like my nipples will fall off but I'm going to keep going because i have loads of great support here to keep me going.
Dan is a doting Dad and I could watch him all day with his baby boy, and I'm still healing and completely in love with my little man.
Iwan is the most gorgeous little package at 5lbs 6oz (was told 5lb8 but they got it wrong) born at 36W + 4.
