Jamie Lee, born a week late on June 17th!

Hi all

Well he came .. eventually! Not quite the homebirth id planned but alls well that ends well ... heres our story...

10th of June, his due date came and went with know sign,

15th of June, my waters started leaking ... quite a fast leak too.

16th of June waters still leaking and not even a cramp so off to hospital to be checked out etc (they only leave you 24 hours here before inducing)

Hospital confirmed waters had broke and said i was starting with a temp and needed to be induced first thing in the morning,
They wanted me to stop in over night but agreed to let me home as long as i took my temp every hour and came in as soon as anything happened or changed.
I was meant to report to labour ward at 8 am for induction.

17th June 5.30 am contractions came from nowhere very sharp ones ever 3 mins!
Got the kids up and sorted, mum came to babysit and off to hospital we went,

7am got to hospital 7cm dilated already!
They put the needle in ready for a drip if needed (got tuns of bruising all over my arm now because they struggled so much)

Has just gas and air .... labour lasted 4 hours, i hemeraged apparently
Jamie Lee was born at 9.30 weighing 8lb 10oz ..fully healthy and fighting fit

Straight on to my for skin to skin and a feed, hes fine, just a little temperature ..... my OH looked more shattered than i did.

Had a shower and some food, got dressed and sorted, Jamies temp went down and 6 hours later we came home in time for the kiddies comming home from school

The MW's knew id wanted a home birth and got me home as quick as they could, they were great

He's gorgeous im sooooo lucky

Jamie just had to wait for the other little june bugs!! he's beautiful - and what a lovely lot of wavy dark hair he has! Maybe he will be dark haired like his daddy.

And can I also say - Jue - how do you do it!!!??? You look sooo beautiful and relaxed. I'm so happy for you and your beautiful brood. 1000s of blessings to all of you.
