I am only a couple days late to write this but Liliana is only 5 days old so not too bad right? Thought I would get on here quick while she's asleep 
My induction was scheduled for Tuesday, Sept 4th in the evening sometime. I was instructed to call the hospital at 6pm to see if any rooms were available. I had a feeling there wasn't (with my luck) and sure enough- there wasn't anything available. Even though I had a feeling there wasn't, I was still pretty upset as I was so over being pregnant and having ANOTHER sleepless night. The reason why they have you go in the evening is to insert cervadil to ripen your cervix and that can take up to 12 hours to work. Anyways, I was then told to call back the next morning at 7am. I call at 7am and they told me to come in right away- that was a nice surprise! I still had to get my son off to school so I went as fast as I could--then got stuck/lost in traffic and construction. Took my 1 hour to get the hospital when I only live 15 minutes away
I arrived at the hospital and was put into a room- was told by the nurse that she was surprised they had me come in since I was being induced and took the LAST room available so if anyone came in in labor, they would have to deliver in the triage room. Oops, lucky me though! Since they were so busy and I was the only induction, I was pretty much last priority so my sister and I spent a lot of time talking (my DH was busy with our son getting him to school and stuff). The nurse hooked me up on the monitors and we listened to the baby for a good 3+ hours lol. I was told that if I was 3cm then I wouldn;t need cervadil and would start oxytocin right away. She checked me and I was at a 3!!
We started oxytocin around noon and from then on it was a waiting game. I labored without pain meds until 5cm when I couldn't handle it anymore. I was completely AGAINST the epidural because my labor with my son was TERRIBLE with it but....I got the epidural lol. I felt absolutely amazing after the epidural and just hung out all day/night long. Labor was going fairly quick and was told that my body was doing most of the work with only a little push from the oxytocin.
Fast forward to about....8:30pm and was at 7cm. Was told babys head was very low and would probably deliver within the next hour. Midwife told me if I felt rectal pressure (A LOT of pressure, not just a little bit) that meant it was probably time to push. I had felt pressure for awhile but not too bad so I just let her head come lower and lower until i REALLY felt the need to push. I had the nurse check me and she said I could start pushing if I wanted and had me give one good practice push. She said I was doing great and asked if I wanted to start now or wait 20 more min- I waited 20 more min and glad I did (less work for me as gravity took place).
20 min later....nurse checks again and has me push. She rushed away quick to grab MW as babys head was already there MW comes in, 3 pushes later (about 5 min total) baby was born! It was the best experience in the world and I had my mom, sister, DH, and MIL all there to see Liliana arrive.
Liliana Margaret weighed 8lbs, 19.7 inches long and was born Sept 5th at 9:57pm
My plan was to breastfeed but I was not successful as my nipples wouldn't protrude enough and Liliana was tongue tied
I ended up getting that taken care of in the hospital so she's better now but we are sticking with the formula feeding. Unfortunately, she is a bit gassy which makes nights hard but we are working on it.
