Job Center Website....

For most of 2009 I was on JSA, I managed to finally get a temp xmas job the end of Sep with a chance of being kept on. I got finished the other day Im gutted I have to go back to looking for work but I know it has to be done.

My question is....when I normally go on the Job Center website I can normally search and look online for jobs with no problem and I dont get re-directed anywhere....but now every time I click on the "search for a job" it takes me to the direct.gov website, which is quite a poop search website tbh....

Anyone having the same problem? x x x

It's been doing that to me for several months hun Although... I have noticed that most of the time it does but every so often it doesn't do it. I think it's because its been in like a beta/testing stage or something???

It is definitely rubbish though.

Glad its not just my internet being stupid I know back when I was looking for work before, it would sometimes re-direct me to the directgov website, but sometimes it would stay on the "normal" better site.
How do they expect me to look for work with something shitty like that x x x

If they expect people to use the direct.gov site instead then it needs serious improvement!

I'm pretty sure they started redirecting people to the direct.gov website instead because the Jobcentre website was so glitchy.... I agree it's not as nice a set-up... I fortunately got a job at the JCP shortly after it was changed I think!!!

Have now worked out how to get to the normal JC search without any problems.
When you are on the first screen where you click looking for job, instead of clicking that, there is a flashing thing to the left of that which says something like '1000s of jobs'. Click on that and it takes you to the normal search function.
