are expecting me and my OH to live on his wage's alone, which after all outgoings leave's us with about £200 to get food and petrol and other luxuries for month.
There reason for not paying me anything is because he's working full time and I didn't pay enough tax in the years they are looking at....one of those year's I was sitting my GSCE's and then 6th form and soon as I quit 6th form I went straight into work :/
How can they include the year I was in full time education as one of my tax years :( even if I worked part time while studying, id have still not paid enough NI. So now we are stuck living on next to nothing, and having stuff for the LO to buy untill they decide to pay me money.
Iv applied for god knows how many jobs but not getting anywhere and now they expect me to apply for somewhere that has in its description "some heavy lifting will be necessary" :S

I spoke to somebody at job centre about this last year, as I had similar problem!! That is contribution based JSA. Apparantly u should be able to apply for income based JSA if u dont qualify for contribution based. I dont know how true this is, as the same woman told me I could claim income support at same time as maternity allowance (I was hopin to just be classed as receiving it even if couldnt get money so could apply for sure start maternity grant), yet I got a letter saying NO! So, what they tell u and what is true are two different things in my experience, but worth askin about income based JSA. If still no joy, I would go to citizens advice and get them to find out how u can be helped. It is ridiculous the way benefits work against us sometimes yet other people seem to get everythin when they have never worked. :\ xxxxx

I think its income based JSA im claiming, I asked her if there was anything I could actually do other then look for work, go sign on (using petrol and paying for parking with money I don't really have) and she said no.
Im going to ring citizens advice tomorrow or call in and hopefully they will be able to help me!
I wouldn't even bother try claiming if my OH fetched home that little bit more, but he's already working what he can, I wish I was still working!
It's causing more stress then its all worth, Iv got to go and sit a presentation on Monday telling me how JC help so many people!

can he not maybe try for working tax credits ?

can he not maybe try for working tax credits ?

Iv asked him too, but he says it will go on his income meaning CSA will take more of him and we wont gain anything, I didn't think it would tho, so going to get him to ring and ask about it tomorrow.
