Just a quick bit of help regarding the d&c I had!

I had a d&c done last Thursday, I have had 2 before where I experienced some bleeding for a few days after.

Well, today I started getting mild stomach ache which is slowly getting worse! I have taken pain killers and there not helping at all

Is this normal? Just I didnt experience this type of pain before??

Had that too, although mine was more in my back, dr said it was probably a contraction. Hope you're feeling better.

Phone HNS direct, they were lovely to me - unless you have a helpful gp in which case just phone them, don't carry on in pain lovely

Thanks huni. I feel silly, as I rang them last night at like 12.00! and they said go the out of hours gp unit.... I didnt go as my partner said it wasnt worth it.

The bleeding seems to of suddenly stopped but the pain is worse now its stopped? x

Don't feel silly, after what you've gone through you are going to know when somethings just not right. Go to your gp's!!! Keep us in touch with how it goes.

Ouch!!!!! I rang the Dr's who made me feel shit!
They said you can come see a Dr, but... they will just say keep taking painkillers.

receptionists aren't doctors - have one of each in the family and know who I'd listen to - go in - they can at least give you a prod - god they are SO rude - spot the woman who has never been through this.

Sorry to hear of what you are going through.
I had a second lot of pain about a week post-erpc and my dr thought I may have a small amount of retained tissue that was missed (possibly why my hcg levels hadn't dropped either). She put me back onto antibiotics for a week as she thought the pain may be due to a mild grade infection from the retained tissue. Did you have any antibiotics after yours?
Hope you get some answers.

Hey, just been back the ward, and they said exactly what you have. Mild grade infection. Given me some antibiotics and some strong pain killers. They did another pregnancy test ( routine apparently ) and it came up positive right away which the Dr said is an indication that some tissue has been left. The stomach ache could be my body trying to expel it.
If after 5 days the pains the same I might have to have another d&c.

Fingers crossed it doesnt come to that xxxxx

hi honey - good job you didnt take any notice of the snotty old receptionist! They really annoy me sometimes - some are lovely but some think by association with the docs they are somehow qualified.

Good job you stuck to your guns - hope the antibiotics clear everything up and you dont have to go through another D&C darling.

Sorry to hear this

I had a nightmare after my D&C, 8 weeks of bleeding, sometimes really heavy & painful with clots.
I kept getting told it was normal & I just was passing some retained 'products'.
I also found the doctors attitudes very frustrating

Hope you recover quicker than I did, the only painkillers which worked for me were a combo of 'ibuprofen' to lessen the cramps & 'syndol' to knock me out xxx
