Just need some advice on miscarriage after 12 weeks

I had a miscarriage in October 2010 at 5 weeks, and i am currently pregnant again, (9 weeks tomorrow)..Had my first scan 2 day's ago, and everything looked great..But now i am starting to get worried that things might still go wrong, between now and my next scan. So therefore i was wondering if any ladies would like to share, who found out that they lost a baby at their 12 week scan, did you have any bleeding, or any idea that you had lost the baby within that time frame? Any answers would be greatly appreciated, thanks ladies xxx

so sorry you have experienced loss hun

with my first mmc i started spotting at 11 wks, got an appointment at epu and was scanned to find no baby just a sac. from what i understand, after much searching as i had never heard of it and was in shock, this is a blighted ovum. But i knew myself that there was a problem at 6 wks, i just felt there was something wrong but pushed the thought away as i had no spotting or cramps.
But there is no way this could be the case for you as you have seen your baby and most importantly the heartbeat
With my 2nd i again got that gut feeling and went for an early scan, after much begging my gp, only to find that baby had stopped growing at around 5wks

I would like to point out that i had a healthy pregnancy in between my 2 losses and i too was terrified. I dont think that will change hun tbh, once you have a loss its natural to feel this way. Just try and hold on to the fact that you have seen both baby and heartbeat and all is well right now. just take it day by day and try to be as positive as you can. I know thats all i can try and do right now

Hi..i am in same frame of mind..my m/c in dec was blighted ovum at 7wks baby stopped growing at 5wks..had scan this wk am 6wks today & a heartbeat was amzingly seen...next scan in 3 weeks...so like you now worried that next scan something will have changed...its just so hard to relax after a loss isnt it..i keep looking at photo & saying no it wont hapen again but i still have my doubts...i have heard stories of losses following a scan with a heartbeat & apparently healthy growing baby..but i also saw on net that once a hb is detected it lowers m/c risk to less than 10% so am trying to cling to this hope as well...

am with you on this..so we can worry & hope 2gtha xxx

Thank you so much girls, you have both put my mind at ease a little!!! I am hoping and praying this little one makes it... I agree mumatmadhouse, i am trying to take it day by day, i think that is the only way i am going to cope at the moment...But thanks so much ladies for your replies, greatly appreciated xxx

My Dr. just told me the same thing, that if you see/hear a heartbeat, esp. before 7 weeks, the chances of miscarriage are only 5%. Try to take some encouragement from that. I go in for my first scan next week, hoping to see that heartbeat. Best of luck with you. I understand that constant fear.
