Just wanted an opinion on dh semen analysis

Sperm count 46.1(is this concentration or total?) it says x10'6/ml
Motility 1hr 60%
Motility 3hr 40%
Normal sperm 75

We have do a second one at fertility clinic on February 7 which is more detailed but wanted an opinion

That's a great SA ! The 46.1 million is per ml, so just shy of 83 million in total ?

I agree with sugarpuff, morphology is great, motility is great, sperm per mL is great. Volume is just under normal (2mL), and the pH is a little too basic, I believe the cutoff is pH of 8. I think why that matters is because you also have a pH value and if your is too far off from his, for example, 7.5, then you could be killing his sperm. But maybe if he had 8.0 and you had 7.5 then it wouldn't matter. But there is another test that can prove or disprove that, it's called a post coidal test. Basically, during your fertile window, when you have EWCM, they take some of your CM after you BD'd the night before and place it under a microscope. If lots are swimming you're good.

Thanks for the replies. The gyn said they were normal under my lab and the clinic didn't say much. Our next appt at fs he has to do a more danced test that we pay for so I just won't certain how to read the results esp concentration versus total #. I'm glad for someone who knows. Thank you. I'm finding this board so great.

Hi ladies

I think the nos look great. By way of comparison... My hubbys sa was:

- volume 6.3 ml (high from what ive seen.) min threshold 2ml.
- count 35m/ml (20m min)
- total count 220m
- progressive 51%
- non motile 49%
- morphology 7% (4% min)

Hope that helps. I wonder what your views are on my dh. Counts brill, not sure about morphology and motility though... Hmmm

I'm in Canada. Thanks for sharing . I know a lot of people had mfi on the boards too but I didn't really understand the numbers. Dh has to o a second one I was going try for next weeks appt but given my tubal issues and period I wanna deal with me more than try to do everything
