Hi girls
Here's my little girl's story.
sorry if there's typos. It's 4:20 in the morning and I'm so so tired
So Wednesday morning I had to check into the hospital at 4:45 in the morning. My mom and I parked the car and walked right in to the OB triage. They made me fill out some papers and took me straight up to my room.
At about 5:15 they hooked up my IV line while was so painful because she stabbed me 3 times to find the vein. Then at about 5:30 they started me on pitocin.
The contractions started instantly but were completely bearable. Now the only doctors who came in were my nurses. My doctor didn't come to check me in the morning. Then they tried to find my cervix to see for dilation. It took THREE people that checked me until they found my very uncooperative cervix. And I wasn't dilated or anything.
By around 2 pm my contractions were extremely unbearable because she increases my pitocin every 30 minutes. Then finally my doctor came around 2:15 and checked me again (first time since 5am) and couldn't even reach my cervix. So I had no change
He gave me 3 options that i had to choose from and let him know by 5 pm.
A) turn off pitocin, shower, get sleep, and try again tomorrow
B) schedule c section
C) go home (yeah right!!!!)
So by 4 I was in such EXTREME pain that I would cry during every contraction. It was just excruciating. They came in and gave mE pain mess via IV and I passed out for about an hour. My doctor and I then agreed on c section.
After getting pain meds, everything was a blur. Going to the operating room, being moved, and everything was just zooming by me.
Now my 3 support people were my brother, his fiancé (my sis in law) and my mom. I chose to take my brother into the operating room with me. He's 26 and an amazing dad himself and since I don't have contact with FOB, I wanted a male figure there with me.
Getting the spinal was scary. It really didn't hurt, definitely less pain than getting the IV. Anyways, the scariest part for me was laying down getting prepped with numb legs. I had an anxiety attack because I'm clusterphobic and getting strapped down and not being able to feel anything neck down was terrifying for me.
They got started right away and after just a couple minutes (seemed like ages) they pulled her out! I was mumbling I'm scared the whole time to my brother who was holding my hand the whole time
When that beautiful baby came out, I burst into tears!!! She was perfect in every way.
So ladies!!
Karinna Marie was-
born at 6:33 pm on august 4th
Weighing 7 lbs 2 ounces
And 19.5 inches long.
And she is a pro breastfeeder! When I came back into the room after my c section, everyone told me she was trying to suck on her hands and toes already. But she takes the breast amazing. I recommend breastfeeding and it really does help you bond. Give it a try girls
