hey all... sadly i have suffered toothache on and off for over 3years now had teeth removed but it just ended up coming back anyways taken paracetimol and ibprofen together ever 4ish hours and stll in pain trying to use clover oil mouth wash and keep mouth clean but think maybe got an infection in my flu, i am laid out with flu atm too... anyone got any quick household tips to just subside the toothache?

:hugs: You poor thing, I had an infection in my wisdom tooth when I was in third tri with Eamon and it was ssooooo bad it kept me up all night and affected the tooth next to it too. I was just keeping something cold on the affected side- know it sounds dumb, but I was sitting there with a wrapped bag of frozen veg and sitting upright because lying down made it 1000x worse. Hope you feel better soon xx

Aw, I really feel for you. I had killer tooth pain during my preganancy and it was the worst pain ever. I couldn't even take anything stronger than Paracetemol for it but Bonjela gel did help until I got the root canal treatment done at the dentist.

yeah think i need this one pulled, after my pregnancy with my son 3years ago my teeth got the worse end of it and since then been told i need betwee 7-9 teeth taken out.

not happy person been phoning dentist and no answer, the pain has gotten 100 times worse now :(

Hmmm, this is a tough one.....Is it definatley your actual tooth thats hurting because if its not you could have gingavitious (Gum infection that can lead to gum disease)

I have this and it can be so painful that I feel like I am going to faint!

I don't have any advice for it just simply see your dentist again and see what they say

there is an infection in the gum was given two really high doses of amoxicillin for it and to go back a week on monday to get more teeth taken out :( really hate getting teeth taken out but they are all caving in really badly :(

Sorry to hear about your trouble, im not sure if i can comment on a case without full knowledge of whats happened over the years but im a Qualified NEBDN Dental Nurse and work for a private practice in Lincolnshire.

You seem really low about whats happening, and so you should be! Why on earth isnt your dentist refering you for treatment?! By what you said in your last post, it sounds like you have periodontal disease which a certain type of bacteria (steptococcus) which attacts and destroys the periodontal ligament and the surrounding bone. To prevent having even more teeth out, you should of seen a perio specialist or at least intensive hygienist appointments for root plaining etc...
This is the 21st century and there are ways to try and prelong teeth without just ripping them out (and it sounds like youve had more than 1 taken out!). My PERSONAL advise would be to speak to your Dentist about perio/gingiva options. (there are special diode lasers out there especially for perio problems, there wonderfull pieces of equipment! - our surgery just invested in one). So please at least get a 2nd opinion before you suffer more. :nope:

thanks for advice its my own fault got to this sage when i was pregnant my teeth started crimpling, after leaving it for over 3years to get proper treatment i am always in agony because the teeth are that crippled, the gums get infected because the roots have rotted so much. the dentist is ripping them out not this monday but next and they are considering getting a brace to straighten out the ones i have cause they badly overlapp and then get implants. no point in getting caps on teeth that aren't even really there anymore and bridges would just destory the teeth i already have.

Oh dear, poor you I sympathize so much as have same regular probs with no dentist taking on go my area. Anyway, clove oil is excellent but tastes so bad I can't use it, sometimes hot water bottle on face, corsadyl mouthwash good and found on net which works for me sometimes is accupressure. On the side it hurts massage that ear lobe, also on side of pain press thumb & each finger using thumb and first finger of other hand to press/squeeze on top of nail and below on pad of finger for 20 seconds each repeat. Hope makes sense, lol.

yeah been using clove oil for three years lol on and off lol... also use clove oil mouth wash too. thanks for all advice
