Did anyone have reallly reallly bad periods before they got pregnant? I've always had horrible periods where I'm on the floor in a ball shaking, sweating, puking, and pooping like non-stop for 3 hours. When I go to my doctor she always tells me its "Normal." They've gotten even worse after my miscarriage so I'm worried its a hormone problem and maybe the cause of why I miscarried also- so I'm finally going to get an OB and go in.

Back to the question; did you guys have really bad periods? what did you do? did you ever go to the doctor for it and be something wrong?

I had horrid periods, not looking to them coming back!

After my miscarriage I only had one period before I became pregnant again and tbh it was very light and not really painfull. Before my pregnancies I was put on the Cerazette pill as my periods were so heavy and painful, so I think I will go back on that :flower:

I am just so against drugs. I want to start trying when I turn 18 and get more schooling done- and really don't want to be on drugs or have to like detox from them. At this point though, I almost ripped my eyeballs out it hurt so bad so I guess anything will work for now. I dont have heavy periods. But my cramps are so bad you can see two HUGE balls popping out of my hips and like twisting. I told the doctor and once again... normal.

She says its because im so skinny and that bad periods run in my family. I'm going to get an OB and get an ultrasound and see if I have like PCOS, or if I have some kind of ovary problem. If they don't do anything Imma show up at their door the next time AF shows up puking and pooping all over their floor until they do something. :flower: :haha:

When i was younger i had really bad periods, with heavy bleeding and they sometimes lasted almost 1 1/2 weeks. I went to the doctor and she gave me some herbal stuff to drink and it made the periods easier, it tasted like blood tho yuck

anyways then i went onto BCP so that eased my periods out. This month I'm getting of them tho and I'm really hoping my periods go easy on me

hi hun, have u looked into endometriosis? i have this (well its suspected) and it can make periods really painful. it may also have POSSIBLY been the cause of your mc as scar tissue can form in your uterus which can make it unable to stretch and grow with baby. i really dont wanna scare you but thought it might be useful to look into as a lot of drs dismiss it. also it can only be diagnosed through a camera being put into your belly button and wont show up on a normal scan.
again im sorry if this scares you x

Yeah. I'm going in to the doctors today to talk to them and if she has no idea then I'll be seeing an obgyn in October sometime. Hopefully I can just find out whats wrong.

Oh goodness. I just want to fix this before it can do serious damage, if it IS something not so great!

I'm pretty much the same as you, I would literally cry for the whole first day, I took midol (sp?) which did help but i would have to take it when i started to feel crampy.

I dont know if it was just me but after my son they werent as bad, the occasional time they would be terrible but they started to regulate and i could go about my day for the most part xxx

My doctor suggested keeping tracks of my periods and ovulation as if I were trying to get pregnant because that can tell me if I have a hormone problem without getting a bunch of pointless testing first. It would also help me figure out if my cycles are regular (which they arent...) and I realized that I have a 9-10 day luteal phase which is probably the cause of my miscarriage as well. So I will be going in for hormone testing and hopefully supplements to keep these nasty horrible periods at bay so I can stop being so miserable. Also it might take a while to regulate so hopefully if I start now they'll be regular by the time I start trying.

i had terrible terrible periods. I missed school because of them and I didn't like to take any drugs for them. When I first got pregnant, my dr thought i was miscarrying because i was having even WORSE pains. i guess I've gotten really lucky to keep my baby girl so far.
