What are you all using to label your childs uniform ?! .

DD1 starts reception next week and I am unsure whether to go with iron on labels etc or just write her name on the label . Although some people have mentioned they cut their children's label off . Arghh

We all know how expensive the uniform is for it to be misplaced ! X

I sew labels on. Just realised earlier I'd forgotten to do the cardigans, so that's something I have to do tonight.

I have iron on labels, I was going to get stick on ones but I found some really cute iron on ones :haha:.

I used iron on labels - so easy and they stand up to the wash/dryer no problem.

I've used iron on ones, real pain to be honest. Friends have suggested special stick on labels or the stamp. If you out the surname, you can save for all the kiddies (providing it's not a hugely popular name, ours is double barreled so unlikely anyone will have that name)

In P1 & 2 I went mad for labelling everything. I've relaxed a lot this year and started putting Ds's name on the label in the inside seam near the hem (I take all the labels out that could come in contact with the skin. I have also realised that as Ds goes to school on PE days wearing his polo shirt these and his shirts don't need labelled as they never come off of him.
I came across this at the start of this term and know I would have had to have it if I'd found it when he first started!

I use a stamper rather than labels. So much easier! I have one that you can change the letters which makes a great if you have more than one LO at school.

For bottles & shoes, I use my DH's electrician labelling machine.

Thanks ladies great help

I am going to look into the iron on labels and the stamp sounds great too !

I didn't even think about labelling her shoes which I am defiantly going to do as she had to have shoes , trainers , PE pumps and wellies !!

My mum was saying to put her name on the hem too just in case someone gets hold of DDs uniform and cuts the label off to keep lol sounds sinister!

Best order something asap !! X

We got lo stick on labels from My Nametags.
They have been great. They have washed without issue and can be stuck to his shoes, bag, pencil case, lunch box etc.

Thanks all I ended up going for the iron on labels from Woven Labels . Picked a pink background so she knows it's hers by the colour . She does recognise her own name etc but just be to double sure lol

Thanks for all your suggestions . X

I just used a clothes labeling permanent marker pen :)

I have also ordered a marker pen Bev ! Just in case the labels are annoying and won't stay on lol ! X

I got iron on labels for my little mans uniform but they have all come off in the wash! I don't know whether I've done them wrong or if they are just crap labels!

I've used iron on ones in the past and they were good but I though stickem ones would be even easier. However I put them in ds2 shoes and had to wash them, his name has now faded on them. Not very impressed

Oh no I hope mine don't all come off in the wash they already look as if the colours have faded and that's just with ironing them on !
