Hello ladies I am expecting my 2nd baby end of October my dd will
Be 2.5 .. I am stuck weather to get a double pram/ buggy or to just get single and she can walk .. She walks about 10-15 mins but after than gets tired and she still sleeps in her buggy if she's tired when out .. I have got a second hand travel system but only single wondering weather to swap for. Double ?? What are you doing or have you done ?

I'm in the same predicament. DS will be just turned 2 when ds2 is due and I'm also back and forth on whether to get a double or not. My lo doesn't sit for very long in his pushchair as it is, and getting him to nap while out is near impossible. At the moment I'm thinking of just buying a sling, and maybe an easy x rider for times when we are out for long periods of time. If when baby comes we find that we do actually need a double we will just buy one then. But for now I don't think I'm going to bother

My DD will be only just 2 or nearly 2 when this baby arrives. I'm getting a double. DD can walk well but sometimes likes to sit on the floor or give up walking altogether. And she gets down from buggy boards. Don't fancy coping with her having a meltdown and a newborn so definitely getting a double and can convert into a single when DD doesn't need a pram anymore

Yes! You will not regret it, I had a "friend" of a friend who criticized me for having my 4 yr old in a stroller after dd2 was born, it's much easier to push around a petite 4 year old who even though she was well behaved would get tired easily especially if we were at the mall, we'll come to find out later she did the exact same thing a few years later haha

My eldest was 20 months when my youngest was born. We didn't get a double, I wore the baby and kept the single for my eldest.

It does depend on the child. My second boy walks everywhere and we hardly ever use the pushchair for him so my plan is the same, the two older ones will be walking and I'll wear the new baby.

I got an attachment piece that hooked onto the single stroller and allowed DD to stand on the stroller, but honestly I never used it, I always put DS in a carrier while DD walked or sat in an umbrella stroller.

It's defiantly worth getting one even if it's just a cheap one.
I sold mine before my little girl was 2 1/2 and I regretted it 😩. She wouldn't stand on a buggy board either so I ended up ended up getting a cheap 2nd hand one xx

I think we'll be getting a Joovy Caboose Ultralight. My little man will be just over three when his baby brother arrives. He still gets tired when we go out so I'm glad this has a sitting option as well. It's not available here in Australia (you can't get sit-and-stands here) so we'll be ordering it online.

I feel like I've been researching this topic for so long now!!! :haha: He's definitely a bit too big for a regular tandem and side by sides are just too wide for us.

I should add that we already have a Bugaboo Bee that we'll be holding onto for when it's just the little one and I out and about.

Thank you ladies I think I will try and find a cheap second hand one that allows for baby and toddler .. What a nightmare lol I just think if I'm pushing baby and she suddenly decides she can't walk anymore I'm in trouble lol

My ds is 3 in October but will walk for hours and has refused a buggy since 15 months! So for me I'm planning on babywearing new baby and holding his hand like normal.
Sometimes I wish he'd sit in one, just for ease!

My brother & SIL got us a double stroller b/c my SIL said you really need one when your out by yourself and need to control your walker. My DD will be almost 3 next summer when we'll really be using it but it has 11 positions and she can stand or sit on a bench like seat. It will be worth it.

Like pp I babywear my daughter now who will be almost two when this one comes. I'll wear my newbie as much as possible. But I'll be getting a sit n stand stroller for when they both need a ride :) and my five year almost six year old should be able to use it too!

My DS is going to be nearly 21 months when #2 is born and he isn't up for walking when we walk the dogs and likes to sleep in his buggy when we do so we are getting a double - out & about nipper 360 - test drove one this weekend and we love it

I still used my pushchair all the time when dd was 2 1/2. It's awful trying to get somewhere with a tired, moaning toddler that refuses to walk! I've only just recently started to use it a lot less and she's now nearly 3 and 1/2.

twag - I had the out n about nipper single and loved it! So light and easy to push - prefect for dog walking

It really depends on your older child. If she is the type who likes to sit in a stroller then its a good idea. My personal experience with it isn't that great.. I got one for my second and third children who are 2 years apart but at the time the 2 year old was very active and wouldn't sit in the stroller for more than 5 minutes with out wanting to get out and walk or play so we ended up using it only twice and sold it after that.

At 2.5 years yes i would get a double, my first son was 2 years 3 months when i had my second son and i had a double buggy because i dont drive we walk everywhere and his little legs would have worn off lol plus if they are feeling unwell etc, i bought a phil and teds because it converts from double to single so it was ideal with this baby though no way would i buy a double, my daughter will be 3 years 8 months and too old for a buggy really she would scream blue murder if i tried to put her in one lol she is adamant she is NOT a baby and wont go anywhere near a pram lol

PurpleIvy44, which one did you get?

I got the Graco Ready2Grow Click Connect Double Stroller. We have a Graco infant stroller/carrier so it's compatible with this one.

Hmm, I'm opting not to get a double buggy mostly because my toddler wants to be carried by me. I'm hoping that we can get past this and he can walk a little. He will be 2 years 8 months when the new baby arrives. I will play it by ear I think. I still have a bugaboo that he was originally in and a pushchair now so I'd really rather not have to fork out again....

I think it is worth having both. there is 23 months between my eldest two, and if I am going to walk any distance or my eldest is in a strop I always taken the double. If I'm just nipping out or doing short stroll make the eldest walk. I got caught out once when the eldest put on a massive threenager meltdown and I only had the single and the buggy board. I couldn't carry her and push the pushchair but she refused for half an hour to do anything but roll around on the pavement. I had to call a friend who lived locally to come and help me out! They are now 2 and 4 and I don't use it all that frequently but it's handy for long day outs etc trips to the zoo or amusement parks, or long hikes / walks. Have baby 3 on the way so not quite sure how I'm going to combine from now on...
