Can anyone recomend a good wireless router conection please?

We used to have a Netgear wireless router that was good but when we moved to Orange as an ISP they gave us a free router so we swapped to that and it's been good too. What operating system does your new laptop have?

Virgin is our ISP and the OS is XP home adition

i have no idea lol my friend brought it round for me, an early birthday pressie.

It says acer on it and says pentium 4, thats all i know, i dont think its a brand new one but its good enough for me

I use a belkin router for my pc, i also have virgin for my isp.

are you cable or phone line?

My internet is through cable.
My moden has a cable that goes through to the router and another cable from router to my pc. Thats the wired part, for the wireless bit my laptop has the wifi but built in and it just automatically picks up the signal from my router.

Depending on the laptop you may need a wireless card (but if it's new then it'll probably have it built in).

No wireless card, my mate said he is getting me one soon, and one for Charlies pc too

When you pick out a router, make sure it says its compatible for cable.

My laptop came with the card but I'm with Virginmedia and have XP and I have this one: -

Never had a problem and always have a great connection anywhere in the house and I keep it in my extention (so it has really thick walls).
