MIL didn't show as there was snow here and she absolutely refuses to drive or be driven in the snow. Even a spot of it.

But Dan's brother and nephew did show up.

I cooked the bloody turkey upside down and also had to moisten the stuffing more.

But what was worse?

I see blood dripping from our freezer compartment on our fridge. The fridge went that day....not working one iota. Christmas night cleaning out the fridge, big salmon being thrown out that my OH caught on a fishing trip, etc. Also had to throw out all the turkey leftovers, etc.

Then, what is the best part of turkey? The sandwiches the following days.

3 days later, I had to cook another turkey dinner. UGH!

This year, going to MIL's house for dinner. I get out of cooking the dinner this year. :wohoo::wohoo:

To top off that Christmas, a few days prior I had one kid throwing up sick. He got better and Amanda got it. Nothing like cleaning up sick on Christmas Eve.

awe well thats good u dont have to cook.. cooking is my fav part :)

Oh that sucks about the fridge, That would be disaster :(

Eek *hide*

We had soggy potatoes instead of roasties last year - I think I boiled 3 lots  kept doing stuff like bottle tidying *forgetting the potatoes* - dry chicken ...enough said lol

Great to sit down and allow someone else accept the bodge ups lol

I so agree.

And you know what is going to be nice? Enjoying my kids this Christmas! When you cook the meal you can never enjoy the day.

I think we might stuff cooking dinner ourselves and go to my Dads, (just asked OH who said no i am cooking lol) but I agree, its hard to enjoy the day when you cook the dinner. Hope this year works out better for you hun :hugs:

my family always splits up the work so that not one person has to make the entire meal :)

That would have been awful having a sick child on Christmas Eve.. Santa must be sneaky at your house getting past sick kids??

I, fortunately, do not have to cook at all yet.. as I'm with my parents still. And our house is one of the smallest of our extended family, so we never have to have everybody over here :)

You should get someone to help you about the Xmas dinner, maybe that would be better.

im cooking my first christmas dinner this year.

i think im just gonna do a chicken instead of turkey though

im cooking my first too and im cooking chicken  fingers crossed it goes well (cant cook very good)

Great thing about going to my mams still is that i dont have to cook, not that im not good, i think i am as i make the xmas cake, but its the pressure of cooking for so many people 19 this year, last year was nearer 30, i'd be too petrified of getting it wrong so my mam grandmas and aunties do it while i play with the kids and my dad grandas and uncles sleep :D
I just make the prawn/shrimp cocktails for the starters and pour the wine

Eventful day!

I'm making a huge Christmas dinner this year :Help:
