Hey all! I should stop reading into things online...I'm very worried! We've only been trying going on 5 months, but I realized I ovulate pretty late in my cycle. The earliest I've ovulated is CD 20 two different months, and then CD 28 and CD 30 (!) the other two months. My periods are always very irregular. My luteal phase is longer now (taking supplements) but i'm still ovulating late. Is this hindering my chances with getting pregnant or do you think it doesn't matter?

that is definatly not late ovulation, what you read is rubbish and scary for people, a lady on her ovulated on CD 90 odd and fell pregnant, i have very long cycles from 50-90 days and that lady gives me hope on falling pregnant, ill try find it for you x

I know, the internet is a dangerous thing. I too was reading negative things about poor egg quality and all that. I ovulate around CD 28-30 (or have the last 4 cycles anyway), so I understand and share your concerns. :hugs:

if you can search for a lady called plutosblue, she has put up a thread called for those with long cycles,..... and it tells her story, you defo do not need to worry about your cycles and day 20 is fine x

Whew. Thanks ladies. Thinking about drinking a margarita on the porch and not thinking about TTC this month! ;) Too much stress involved!

Same with me, i was reading up on this the other day and found that if it is your natural cycle to ovulate late, that is just "normal" for you and its fine.

It sounds like this is the case if you always ovulate late.

If you have hormonal problems etc and ovulation is delayed by a lack of hormones then the egg "cooks" too long and is a poorer quality.

Im still debating the vitex/soy route for next cycle, did the vitex do anything for you?

It looks to me like I do always ovulate late, but I just started keeping track 4 months ago. My cycles are anywhere from 25 to 42 days, so I'm sure I've ovulated sooner. Boo! To be honest, I had to stop taking Vitex. I had some blood work done and my progesterone was really high and looking good, so I didn't want to take anything that made me produce MORE progesterone, since that can delay ovulation- and that's what I DON'T want! :) Right now I am sticking with the Maca since it helps with the overall cycle (not making you produce more of one thing) and boosts your libido big time. That's been a nice perk! This will be my first month taking it, so not sure if its bringing on an earlier O yet.
