Drake Thomas Lewis was born at 10:07 am on February 20th, 2012 at 30 weeks gestation. My water broke on Sunday at 10:50pm and they administered magnesium to try to slow contractions to allow the steroid injections to mature his lungs. I started contracting at 6am on Monday morning and by 9am I had gone from 1 cm to 6 cm, 90% effaced. The doctor decided to do an emergency C section because he was breech.

My hospital didn't have a NICU that was equipped enough, so I was transported by ambulance to another area hospital with level 3. Drake is doing wonderful for his age. He's already breathing on his own. My little fighter. He'll have to stay in the NICU for at least 5 weeks.

Can's photo share on hospital network, so I'll post pics later. I get released on Friday. It'll be so hard to leave him here.

Oh wow I am so sorry he can't come home with you. He's doing well though so you can rest assure he'll be well taken care of. Congrats Can't wait to see pics.

Put a pic on the first post. I don't have a lot uploaded yet. I was discharged yesterday and it was SO hard to leave him there. Luckily, his NICU nurse let me try my first round of kangaroo care and I can pump milk for him so I feel like I'm doing something.
