Lazy latching!

Erin is pretty much exclusively breastfed (there has only been 2 occasions where she's had a bottle), but lately she has started to not latch properly and just takes in my nipple - particularly on one side. She refuses to open her mouth any wider for me to attach her properly, so I'm getting a little sore. I'm not sure if she's getting lazy, because often when I feed her, it comes out so fast that she hardly has to suckle! She just kind of lies there with her mouth open and it runs in, especially at the start of her feed.

Any suggestions ladies? I mean I reattach her as often as it takes to get it right, but it just seems to be taking longer and longer and I don't know how or why she'd be doing this!

Try sandwiching your breast between your fingers so you can guide more of the breast into her mouth.

I am having the same problem so I will be watching this thread. Leo only does this on random occasions; sometimes he doesnt do it at all and other times I give up in frustration and wait 10/15 minutes and try again.
