Leaking milk whilst pumping

Does anyone have any advice on how to stop milk leaking out of the flange whilst pumping?
I have the smallest shield that medela do as I don't have the biggest nipples in the world but I still seem to be leaking milk during the pump session. I have tried leaning forward but that just destroys my back and leaves me in a lot of pain and adjusting the position of the flange/bottle but that doesn't seem to help either.

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Maybe some lanolin based nipple cream, or petroleum based cream (like vasoline etc) round the flange to make more of a tight seal. You still might loose milk but maybe it wont drip everywhere.

I always had to slightly tilt the flange so it was pressed more firmly to the bottlm half of my breast than the top as well. When I lost concentration I'd get wet!

Hadn't thought of using nipple cream. Will give that a try on my next pump session. Thank you
