not sure where to post this ... so if its in the wrong place Im sorry

David is 2 weeks old and i had to switch to formula feeding , we just got back from the Dr, but the one thing i forgot to ask was when will i STOP leaking now that im formula feeding .... im leaking ALL the time and even more now that im no longer breast feeding .......

thanks :) :hugs:

It will stop eventually - sometimes takes a few weeks for the boobies to get the message not to produce any more milk. Trouble is at 2 weeks your body is all gearing up for booby feeding and your supply will be a bit all over the place. If you're getting engorged you can always hand express (or pump if you have one) a very small amount to relieve the pressure (iykwim) - don't do too much or your body will think there's a baby to feed and will produce more milk. It does get easier. Do you have a sports bra or a slightly tighter fitting bra - that can sometimes help. Good luck!

Hi hun,
I breastfed Olivia at first but now she is on formula and when i swapped my boobs wouldnt stop leaking and even now i get the odd wet nipple  When i spoke to the midwife about this she said that you should wear a firm bra and DONT EXPRESS as much as you wanna relieve the pressure it will only prolong the leaking as your body still thinks your breast feeding!
I was also tols not to have really hot showers/baths as this also helps the boobs leak more freely thus they wont 'clog' up and stop just yet!

I hope this is of some help but iw ould still advise speaking to your doc
xx

i think for me it was 2 weeks and the completly stopped leaking, but to be fair they didn't leak that much anyway
