I was sent some formula samples in the mail by Simalic & Enfamil. They are powdered in the containers. They've been in my car since I got them (probably January). They are nowhere close to expiring (it says it expires in 2016), but we've had plenty of freezing days and maybe 2-3 warm/hot days. All of the containers are unopened. I'm wondering if they are still OK to use or does powdered formula need to be kept in certain temperatures?

I would just see what it says on the package in terms of safe storage. The cold wouldn't have done any harm, if anything it would have reduced bacterial growth, but if it's been left in the heat (anything more than room temperature) that would be more of a concern. If it's just been cold, they are probably fine, just make sure to make them correctly with hot water just in case. But if you're really worried, I would just throw them out. They're just samples and free, and not worth the risk if it concerns you.
