Hi ladies, quick question here about leftover milk.

I am away from my lil one for one feeding each morning. As a result she gets a bottle of expressed milk. When I pump during the missed feeding, I get about 6oz which means she must drink about 6oz or so from me when breast feeding. However when she has the bottle she always seems to dink less, more so around 3oz. I was somewhat concerned about it but it is normal right?

Another question what should I do with that left over 3oz? Can I put it back in the fridge to use later or do I have to throw it away?

You need to throw it away, but if you were to split it into two bottles you could keep the one she doesn't want

It is normal. Technically you are supposed to throw it away. But with my son he almost never ate it all and I always put the bottle in the fridge and gave it to him again later and never had a problem with this. I would not re-use it a third time though.

Hmm I guess I could split it up into two bottles. I just figured she would drink more because she normally does if I feed her myself via bottle even. I was thinking of that Marley, sounds like a plan.

Thanks for letting me know I need to throw it away ladies, I had put it in the fridge to use tomorrow yikes!

Whatever was in the bottle she was drinking from must be thrown out. Once it has touched her mouth, it is contaminated (I mean that nicely)...but the saliva contaminates it, breaks it down etc...
