I don't believe it. Was meant to be going out last night for birthday drinks, and even before I left home I fell over and dislocated my knee, spent hours in a+e last night and now I've got my whole leg in plaster with crutches.

What am I going to do with Kacie? There is no-one to help me, everyone works all day. Going to bring the cot downstairs but I still don't know how I'm going to get her for one place to another when I'm on crutches. I'm at a loose end!!!!

Mum said she can come round after she finishes work, but that's not till 5. Would I get funding for childcare? I don't know what else I can do :cry::cry:

Oh my god, poor you!

I really don't know. I hope someone else can give you some advice but just wanted to send hugs.

:hugs: :hugs:

Oh no! Poor you!!

Its going to be hard but I am not sure about the childcare thing. Is there no one else you could call?? x

Oh No!! :hugs: Im not sure on Childcare either

But could you use a baby carrier so you can strap her onto you and then use crutches so you dont have to worry about holding her? :hugs:

That is a brilliant idea!!

The carrier is a great idea, but I'm kinda leaning forward as I'm hobbling so worried she might fall out lol. Going to ring around tomorrow and ask what's available, surely I'm not the only single parent this has happened to! In the mean time mum's gonna put her to bed, and then come round once she's awake, were going to go to my nans in during the day as thats the only person that can help, but I've just got Kacie into a perfect routine so it's all going down the drain.

Need to get her with a childminder or in a nursery really, my nans getting old, and mum can't take any time off work.

Pretty shit!! All because I got off the toilet quick and fell over lol, pathetic!

Hun you can contact Social Services and they can provide help for you while you are incapacitated hehe. The idea with the baby carrier is a good one if Kacie will tolerate it. Do you have a surestart centre near you? They also provide childcare so if you contacted them I'm sure you could sort something. But as I said if you can't sort something then Social Services can. They are not just there to deal with children who are at risk, but to help out in difficult situations :hugs:

Owwwww you poor thing, sounds painful :( Hope its not hurting you too much!!

I like the baby carrier idea! Hopefully she will tolerate it!!

xxx

Thanks girls :hugs: The leg is a right royal pain in the backside

I tried the carrier and there was no chance it was going to work, I'm shit with crutches as it is and it made my balance all wrong! haha

This week I've been getting my mum to come round as soon as Kacie wakes up, then going to my nans, then to my aunties in the afternoon, then mum picks us up and puts Kacie to bed. It's a nightmare I'm telling ya!

Social services have been great though, got funding to put Kacie in a nursery 3 days a week. I don't want to leave her but I know it's better than carting her here there and everywhere, she hates it!

aw thats good then, 3 days a week is good gives you some time to not worry about carting her about! Also rest and re-couperate!

Well girls, I went to have my cast taken off last Friday, and ended up having an MRI scan because it's not the first time it's happened. Gotta go and see the surgeon this afternoon and I'm absolutly crapping it! I can't have an operation :( I miss Kacie!!!!!

Not good! Got an operation on Wednesday to repair the crucial ligament :( Gonna be in till Friday night/Saturday! Could take upto 2 months before I'm walking unaided. I hate leaving Kacie in the nursery during the week but there isn't anything else I can do :( Mums gonna have her for a few days while I'm in hospital. It's all just a royal pain in the arse

Oh you poor thing.. Good luck with the operation :)

:hugs: oh no!!! Poor you!! :( good luck with the operation and hopefully you'll recover quickly!!
