Lesbian / Gay Parenting?

So was browsing all the sections of the forum earlier and I noticed that we have a teen / single / multiple / natural parenting section but no section for lesbian and gay parents.

Might be something worth considering seeing as there are quite a few of us on the forum now

Being a same sex couple and raising children brings about a whole host of issues and questions that are not really relavant to other sections so would be really nice to have a dedicated part of the forum for people to ask such questions and get support.

One example is that I have just found out (thanks to the lady that posted on my journal) that it is possible for a same sex partner to be on the birth certificate of any new baby.

A dedicated section would mean that other parents / parents to be could ask similar questions and get responses from appropriate, well informed people.

Would love this....there are a handful of really useful, active threads out there but it can be time consuming to find them and they can get lost in amongst everything else. Not a problem if you subscribe, but I've noticed new people take a while to find us.

Maybe if we can get enough ladies saying they want it then it will pushed up the list like you say.

When I first joined this forum (not too long ago) I thought I was the only lesbian on here at one point and felt a bit isolated, especially when chatting about TTC as no-one knew the answers to the questions I had about donor;s and A.I etc.

Thankfully someone pointed me over to the artificial insemination thread and there is loads of us

I think it would make it a lot easier for new members, I know I nearly left the forum at first but eventually was brave enough to post and sent in the right direction.

I'm not a lesbian, but I was raised by one...I love my mother and her wife with all my heart and you should definitely have your own section! It's hard!!

Nothing 'pushes up the list', that's really not how it works.

We have a few changes happening at the moment, also I am unable to be so active so we have higher priorities within this time.It is something we have noted to be considered in the near future but at this time that's the only update I have for you.
