I went for my dating scan yday where they said I was 8 weeks and baby looked fine with a good heartbeat. Today I have had a tiny bit of light brown discharge. I phoned the early pregnancy assessment unit and they said just to keep an eye on it but she thought it will just stop but to come in if it continued. This is what happened in February when I lost mt first little one but with that one I hadn't had a scan first.

What do you all think?

Hi there, just came across your post

I'm 14 weeks pregnant, and at 8 weeks and 12 weeks I experienced Light brown discharge too. Usually for the first few days of it, it was dark brown and came out a little onto a pad, and then when I wiped. The first time it lasted for 4 days. This last time it lasted for 7 days (only when wiping)

I was so upset when it was happening, but had a u/s at 12 weeks and baby was fine.

I think some women have it due to hormone changes. Plus it is also most likely around when our periods our due 4 weeks, 8 weeks, 12 weeks.

I wouldn't worry too much about it, just take it easy (not too much working out, etc, no sex while its happening) and if it gets red in color, def contact your doctor.

Oh BTW, I had a early m/c in November and had brown discharge too (but no embryo was ever detected w/ that one)

Thank you for your reply. It has made me feel better! I suppose I have just got to stay positive that they picked up a good heartbeat at my scan yday. Surely that's a good sign?

I know its super hard, but yes try to just take it day by day.

And yes showing a strong heartbeat is a really good sign!

How many BPM was it?

At 8 weeks my baby's was at 168bpm

When do you go for your next u/s?

I don't know she didn't tell me she just said it sounded fine. Was definitely over 100 though. They're booking me in for another u/s in 2 weeks as that'll be just after I had my mc last time.

I am still having brown discharge and last night quite a lot came out so I'm booked in at the hospital today. So down and just fed up.

How are you doing sweetie? Any news? I have been thinking of you.

:hugs:

Sorry I've not updated. We went for a scan at our EPAU on Tuesday and everything was fine. I'm so relieved. She couldn't see anything that was wrong but I'm still getting a little bit of the discharge. Just praying its one of those things and everything continues like it should.

I've attached a pic of my gorgeous little jelly bean!! Measuring 9 weeks.

Congrats on the healthy baby! wanted to let you know that I have been having brown spotting off and on now for like 4 1/2 weeks or so....it is VERY frustrating and in my case a scan done at 7+1 showed a healthy baby with a strong hb but also an implantation bleed. they said could take a while to clear up but not to worry.

again glad to hear you are doing ok!

Hey there. Brown discharge is not normal but doesn't always mean something is wrong. This pregnancy I freaked when I had brown discharge at 7 weeks - had an emergency scan and all was good. You did the right thing by getting it checked. Wishing u the best!

I've had red/red brown/brown/pink spotting and/or bleeding with all but one of my pregnancies. Several times it was a miscarriage but with my daughter and with my current pregnancy it was a subchorionic hematoma. It's just a small uterine bleed that happens to some women and it usually goes away by 20 weeks. My dr was very supportive and has ordered extra u/s because she knows I feel way better when I see the baby and a strong hb. As long as you aren't cramping, the bleeding isn't necessarily the start of a mc. Hope all shows up okay when you go in!
