I went to bed on Sunday night and woke up at 1.50am as i could feel water pulsing out between my legs, i knew imediately what it was and shouted my boyfriends name jumped up and waddled to the loo. as i was in the bathroom i saw i had leaked a trail and the colour of the water was a browny green. i knew this wasn´t good so we went to the hospital straight away.
we arrived at the hospital and they said that the colour wasn´t good and i was only 1cm and had a thick cervix so they wanted to move things along and induce me. in this time i had only had a few mild contractions.
so they set me up on he drip and told me i had to stay in the birthing room untill i gave birth so they could keep an eye on me the whole time. contractions started to get stronger and closer and they checked me again at 11am and i was only 1 - 2cm. they wanted things to go faster so they pushed through 2 packs on the drip quite fast and within half an hour my contractions went from every 4 - 6 mins to practically no break in between so they gave me an epidural as i had previously asked for one when i was in too much pain.
after that i started dilating more and after i got to about 5cm i could feel the contractions again and lots of pressure with each one.
by 4.30pm i was 10cm and was having the urge to poo with each contraction, so they turned down the epidural and said i could start pushing. after 3 hours of pushing and changing position 4 times lol i could feel the head coming out and new i was nearly there from the emotion in my boyfriends voice encouraging me. i gave birth on all 4´s leaning on a birthing ball and they passed her through my legs immediately and told me to hold her, i did and then couldn´t stop sobbing it was such an amazing feeling!!!!!
they told me to turn around to deliver the placenta but it wouldn´t come out so after 45 mins of pushing my stomach it finally came out and it was all over! i luckily didn´t need need any stitches!!
the whole thing feels like weeks ago it is very strange, but Liliana is just sooo lovely! xxx
