So as some of you will know we went in for an elective csection because Lily was breech, she was still breech during a scan on the morning so the section went ahead as planned.
We had a great team of people delivering her, every single one of them helped to set our minds at ease and they really kept us aware of what was going on and made a point of talking to us to keep us comfortable. I could never thank them enough!
The longest part of the whole operation was getting the needle monitor thing in my arm, apparently my veins did not want to have an elective section and decided to hide, lol. But we eventually got one!
The spinal was fine, I eventually stopped jumping a foot into the air every time the anesthesiologist touched me with the needle and the spinal took nicely. It's really the weirdest sensation though, being laid there with people touching you and moving you around but not really feeling it.
The section itself went really smoothly and then there was Lily!
She is perfect! It's strange to look at her and think that's who was inside me for 9 months, and it really feels weird no longer being pregnant!
Recovery is going really well too, we went in for the section on the 17th and was home by 2pm on the 19th. I feel fine going to our local shop and going up and down the stairs. The worst pain is first thing in a morning because of how stiff my limbs get being laid in one position for a few hours during sleep, but other than that I really can't complain. I feel like I should have milked it a little more, lol.
What else..had our midwife visit yesterday, Lily is doing great, feeding really well and is generally a healthy baby!
Oh and because Lily was breech she has, what the hospital affectionately called, froggy legs. They'll gradually come down, and she will have a hip scan at 6 weeks, so for anyone with the same thing don't worry about it!
