Lily Somerville was born on 25th Oct at 9pm at 6 pounds 2

Had my first contraction that felt like a bad period pain around half 4ish and I genuinely thought it was nothing as Id had random aches the past days with bad BH. Felt another one and they were 15 mins apart so thought just in case Ill go for a bath, at 5ish felt sorer as they were happening but unlike the BH in between I felt such relief. After shaving (I still laugh I was shaving while in labour :haha:) I felt it too sore and jumped out with shampoo still in my hair. Told my gran this was it and got my aunty (who was my birth partner) to come round at half 6 they were 7 mins apart and getting a lot stronger. Phoned L&D who said to call back when I have 3 in 10 mins. A short while after noticed blood and phoned back, they told me it was just a show and to take 2 paracetamol and wait another couple of hours. By half 7 they were every 4 mins and agony, was gripping and biting the couch trying hard not to scream. Kept telling my gran and Aunt something wasnt right as everything was going so fast. At 8 saw more blood and knew it wasnt right and on the way out of the toilet I felt the transition and the urge to push. They were convinced I had ages yet but I phoned L&D screaming saying what was happening so said to come in.
I got in a taxi and forgot due to roadworks there was speedbumps up 2 big streets! By this point I was trying my hardest not to push in the taxi :nope: Waddled in agony all the way to the triage and within 2 secs of them getting me on the bed they knew I was about to give birth.
I was rushed to the delivery room (which hadnt even been prepared yet) I got gas and air and my OH and aunt came in with me. I heard midwife say something but I thought she said 5 and 6 so I thought that was my dilation. Turns out she said I was fully and just had a lip of cervix :dohh: told me I mustve walked the length of hospital 8cm at least  She was in distress so had to get docs who used forceps to assist (pretty sore as was told pain relief I had took wouldn't have had time to work) I had to have my The actual birth itself wasnt so sore that was more a nice relief feeling. Had to be cut though =( Didnt feel anything not even the stitches (guess thats when the pain relief worked :dohh:) The moment she was placed on my chest I burst into my first tears :cloud9: she was just so tiny and beautiful. Such an overwhelming feeling seeing the little one that had been kicking my ribs for the past few months in person  She was put in an incubator to keep her temp up and was kept in for a few days to check her feeding etc and half her clothes didnt fit her as I was told she would be 7 pounds roughly when she was born but we're all home and settled and couldnt be happier :hugs: Listen to me drivel on but really thanks to everyone on the forums for everything and heres some cute baby pics =)
