have asked this in ttc but thought i would ask this here too

been told today that there may be a problem with using a clear blue monitor and having longer cycles.

can anyone tell me anymore?

i have low progesterone so dont always ovulate. my cycles when their not messing me about can be anything up to 45days so i am trying to decide whether its worth me buying one.

Don't want to R&R but I don't know anything about fertility monitors either. Good luck! I hope you get some answers.

Sorry i also dont know anything about fm. If u dont always ovulate wont ur gp refer u to a fs?

I read that anything over 42 days on a CBFM gets it confused - i too suffer with long unpredictable cycles so i have steered clear from buying one.

If you have had this issue for at least 12 months i would consider getting yourself referred by your GP. I've had 6 cycles in the last 12 months & can only prove ovulation in two of them, i've been trying for a year now and have my referral through to see the gyn in March.

Have you had any tests yet?

I had long cycles too and got a CBFM! It did work, although the month I got my BFP was the month I didn't get a high on the monitor!!! Sorry, not much help!!! Good luck :)

after depo my cycles were all over the place so when i started using the CBFM i started to get a better idea of my most fertile times. It really helped me i know that much!

the only thing I know is related to PCOS and long cycles which is:

If a CBFM works on finding the LH surge (which indicates ovulation is coming) then sometimes women with PCOS can show high levels of LH and look like they're ovulating when infact they're not therefore perhaps confuse the CBFM.

not sure if thats useful or not but thought i'd share :)

thanks everyone i've had the blood tests which told me i had low progesterone my doc said to just show whem i'm ready for the clinic but said i would give it till the full 12 months in april
