Hi

I am looking for a good birthing book to prepare me for the big day. What do people recommend? I really don't want to read through a really long book like Ina May's Guide to Childbirth, so a friend said I should look at Confident Birthing: Mental Tricks for Labor and Delivery (I can't post a link because I have just joined the forum, but it is available on Amazon). Does anybody know if this book is good? What else do people recommend?

I'm reading "birth skills" by juju sundin.

I've enjoyed reading it & think some if the practical tips could be really useful. Will find out in another seven weeks or so whether they worked.... :)

I second Birth Skills, I used some of the techniques in my second drug free natural labour and they were brilliant. I also used some of the techniques in my EMCS with no. 3 to help me deal with the fear and pain and they were invaluable both times GL

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll take a look at Birth Skills, but it also is around 300 pages. I went ahead and bought Confident Birthing. I've only read a few pages, but so far I like it.
