Hi wants, i used to be a bmi of 31 and got down to 23 and stayed there by knocking off the carbs in my diet. After 6 years of ttc and 6 failed ivf's I had gained 20 pounds back and went back on diet mode. We were also on the adoption list when I fell pregnant the second time in my life naturally. The first ended in mc but was again a bfp because I was dieting and exercising like a mad woman. I find carbs (high inflammatory diet) are NOT good for fertility. Bread, noodles, rice, crackers, wine/alcohol, and sugary treats like chips & ice cream. I used to drink waaay too much wine and nachos were my favourite when we went out.

The diabetes association did a study and found small nodules on eggs with women that followed high carb, high sugar diets. The other problems that follow being over weight, as my friend, who's a skinny nurse told me, hormones are locked up in fat. So your cycles won't work properly and miscarriage rates skyrocket, along with blood clot problems when pregnant. Taking the weight off really does work. For me, I lose weight most efficiently on a ketogenic diet where I cut out carbs and veggies, clean protein, protein shakes and some fruit are my basic diet. My carb cheats are miracle noodles and noodle alternatives ie zucchini noodled, spaghetti squash etc and quinoa every now and then. When we do thai or vietnamese food I replace the rice or noidles with more veggies, they're always happy to do this for me. My motivation was helped by ketostix, which when you pee on them, if your body is busy burning fat rather than carby food that you've eaten, the stick would turn purple. I tried hard to stay in the purple and the weight flew off. When the scale didn't move (sometimes called a plateau) my body was shrinking and the clothing didn't fit anymore, I needed smaller sizes. So mever think that nothing happens during plateaus, it's just not true...hang in there & don't give up! My goals...every 30 pounds or so are new clothes, never pizza etc. I joined a gym and my workouts were about 1/2 hour cardio (I like elliptical best as it's easy on the knees), 1/2 hour weights & 15 min stretching, 3-4 times/week.

I also took vitex to help get my hormones sorted and Vitamin D. Vitamin D is one of the most powerful vitamins for infertile women. That was it. I was diagnosed with diminished reserves at 35 and after losing 70 pounds and 6 years later I conceived our DD. I wish you all the best!!!

This is where I did most of my research on infertility & mc. The site us centered around mc however the studies tell you about what works & what doesn't for fertility:
