Well after allowing myself a couple of weeks to let the news sink in about having PCOS i have decided to pull my finger out and try to lose some weight. I am not massively overweight but have heard that shifting a few pounds may help with TTC. I am currently back on the pill to let my body have a break and to try help regulate things. I have been trying to eat a low GI diet and so far have lost 5lb in 2 weeks :happydance: Is there anything else i can do or try as we are desperate for another baby and i want to try to help my body as much as i can. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated :) Thanks in advance.

hi there, I would really recommend Slimming World actually. I've been following it since Xmas and LOVE it, plus it's the only plan recommended by Royal College of Midwives to follow during pg and bfing, so lookking ahead to when we get our bfp's it means we can continue right through if we wish and be super healthy mommas!

Thanks for the reply, my sister in law followed the slimming world plan and lost loads of weight with it. I like the GI plan and like i say have lost a few pound from it so far. The other thing i forgot to ask is,, are there any pcos sufferers that have problems with pains in the pelvic bone? For the last few days i have been really aching and its blooming annoying me now. Right i am off to ring my sister in law to see if she still has all her meal plans. Thanks again :hugs:

Hiya, I have pcos and have pain on the left right side of my pelvis, aches like toothach especially when in bed! I didnt know this could be the pcos??? al x

Glucophage ( Metformin ) is a medication that is prescribed for PCOS and it can also help with weight loss...

...One more thing about weight loss and TTC.... It is possible to have a baby at any size/weight! I was told to see a nutritionist & come back in 6 months, lose 20 lbs, eat in moderation and the list goes on...I was 5'3" and 150 with my first, 155 with my second and 170 with my third...With PCOS weightloss is difficult for some. I want you to stay positive. You can do it! BABY DUST TO ALL
