I decided to try out aptamil comfort for my lo who is 2 weeks one day. She had a lot of wind and a lot of crying. Also colic runs in the family so i thought id give this formula a go.

However shes forever passing wind all day and all night. Shes also awake all day but sees really tired so im worried her wind is stopping her sleeping. Another problem is she has about 30 mls every five hours. That doesnt seem very much to me when at two weeks you up the formula amount to 120 mls (4 scoops).

Has anyone else had the same problem and what did you do?

thanks

Joe is on cow & gate and has always had lots of bottom burps!! He's constantly done them, I didn't know babies could fart that much lol!! Does your LO also burp after every feed?

As for the amount, Joe started off at 30ml's I seem to remember but we made bottles up for more (we worked in oz) so we made up 2 or 3oz bottles and let him that what he wanted, but fed on demand. At 2 weeks I think he fed every 2-3 hours both during the day & at night.

Hope that helps x

Evie is on Aptamil stage 1 and farts like a builder

Hannah is on aptamil 1 stage and omg she would put any man to shame :dohh: the noise of her.

How is your LOs weight going? Scarlett only took 1 oz for a day and then started 2 oz and after a few days between 2 and 3 oz every 2-3 hours. Scarlett is on cow and gate and is also very very windy when she's laid down. The only way I can stop the constant farting, screaming and grunting is pretty much to not lay her down and she is held nearly all the time. Not very practical I know, sorry. Have you thought about giving her a bit of infacol each feed? xxxx

Hope you don't mind me adding to this thread :shy: but Linds is 10 months and we do morning and evening bf's and a bottle of Aptamil 2 midday - and she's been having liquid poops/diarrhea for the last wk, I'm not sure if its related?!? Anyone had that experience? I know Aptamil is great for babies who are easily constipated cause of the probiotics, but could it be its too much for her??
Sorry again hon, and thanks!! :hugs:

Anna is on Aptamil First - and has been farting so much in the last few days but I didnt notice it when we started on formula.

You say your LO is on 30mls every 5 hours - that is just 1 oz- so does she only take about 5oz a day??? That is not a lot at all!! When Anna was 2 wks she was taking about 13-15oz a day - which I believe was still not as much as she was supposed to be taking!!

Omar is on Aptamil AR & he also so gasy. As for the feeds, she's not getting enough. try to give he 30 ml every 2 hrs if she can't take more per feed then increase 2 60 ml gradually. U dont want her to end up dehydrated.
