I've been having a lot if what I think is round ligament pain, it's where my leg meets body. The right side hurts more. It's not always sharp but always seems a bit sore these days. Anyone else? Normal or should I worry?

I have the same issues, although I will get them further up in the abdomen as well. I think it's normal, they are stretching as we get further along. Mine are just achy in general and if I move too quickly, I get a really sharp pain. Hope this helped! :)

Yeah it's pretty normal though give your midwife a ring if you're worried or the pain gets very bad.

I say this as I have a hernia that can feel very similar and I often mistake one for the other.

Im getting rlp this time around, don't remember getting it with my son.

I'm wondering if what you are actually experiencing SPD. Some people confuse it with round ligament pain, the main difference is round ligament pain is stabbing and doesn't hang around, if you change positions it goes away. SPD is long lasting, sometime always present, and more of an aching, sore, pulled muscle feeling. It's due to the hormone relaxin loosing your ligaments. It's more common later in pregnancy than round ligament. For me it is hard to walk a ton, go up stairs, roll over in bed, get out of bed or up off the floor. It feels like I way over worked out my inner thigh and lower abdomen muscles.

I have RLP. Your symptoms sound just like mine, I have a lot of pain where my leg meets my body, too.

Contact a pregnancy chiropractor. Has been a dream for me and also helps with labor by aligning everything!!!

Thanks for the replies!

What's the difference between spd and rlp?

Round ligament pain is more shooting or stabbing. It lasts for a few seconds and goes away usually on its own or by changing positions. It's caused by stretching muscles as you grow and more common in the first and second trimester. SPD is long lasting, feels like overworked sore muscles, like over stretched or pulled muscles, stays in standing/sitting/laying positions and is more common towards the end of the pregnancy. It's due to the hormone relaxin over relaxing your ligaments.

I had lots of round ligament pain in the beginning. But honestly that was cake compared to SPD. The SPD started around week 29. I'm 33 weeks now, it hurts to roll over in bed, squat, sit down, stand up, walk, especially upstairs, pretty much always there.
