Had a growth scan today as I have gestational diabetes. Scan showed that baby's growth had slowed down since my last scan at 28 weeks. On the sheet the radiographer gave showed fluid at 199mm but said levels were within the normal parameters. From searching on the internet this shows as low fluid levels. I have another scan next week which will look for liquor level and blood flow to the baby but a little worried at the moment.

Has anyone had this experience or can offer some advice please?????

Thanks

hi hun- I had the opposite to this, I had far to much amniotic fluid- So much more that i was put at risk of premature birth, cord prolapse, haemoragging and placental abruption. Both low levels and high levels can be the scariest at the best of times. I used to worry so much-
: Do NOT look on google, It will worry you so much I developed so much anxiety during the last couple of weeks it was horrific.
I have a friend who had low levels at 35wks, luckily... they put her on a drip to put more into her body and she got induced at 37wks. Her boy is healthier than ever and is now a chuby 2 yr old :) Hope that gave you some closure-I apologise if im not much help as i had the total opposite. :hugs:

At my scan last week they told me that my fluid was low and baby probably had IUGR. I asked the doctor if drinking water would replenish it and she said no but everywhere on the net said to just drink loads and loads but not things like coffee and tea that would dehydrate you. Maybe it might help for the next examination, best of luck x

Thank you for your messages. Will see what happens on Wednesday and fx'd everything will be okay. xx

I had low fluid and was supposed to be induced over it (same day I was going to be induced I went into labor lol) But my levels were 7.9cm @ 37 wks and then 6.3 @ 37+6..the techs told me anything under 5cm is cause to do an immediate delivery but normal was 10-18cm...so 199mm converts to 19.9cm so I would say if anything you have a little extra fluid
