low blood platelet count?? :/

i've posted this in several other places on here.
but just now found this thread.
i'm just looking for any info on low blood platelet count?
i was informed today that mine is low and i need to see a blood specialist this monday. i don't know what any of this means as i was called by a nurse and didn't get to talk to my doctor directly.
any info or experiences on this would be greatly appreciated.
i also have a low lying placenta that will be checked on during an u/s this monday as well. not sure if that makes any difference or not..

I had this with my first pregnancy which ended up just being due to a viral infection when I fell pregnant. My doctor kept an eye on my blood test results and fortunately it corrected itself and I didnt need to see a haemetologist. Have you been sick at all recently

my DH did have a stomach bug when i was around 20 weeks, and i couldn't make him sleep on the couch or stay away from him. lol.
but i didn't get anything except diarrhea for one day.
how low did your count get before you went into labor?
