Hi ladies,

I started on clomid this month to treat my PCO and regulate my cycles, but it now seems we have a double whammy with male factor too.

Can you please take a look at these numbers and tell me what you think?
count: 14 million (doc says 20 is normal)
motility: 35% (should be 50%)
morphology: 98% (apparently 90 - 92% would be OK here)

The doctor said that based on all this, we have a 2% chance of conceiving naturally, so it looks like IVF from here.

Does anyone have any good stories for me??

Hey MrsJA! Dont give up hope honey......The docs wont tell you but you can do stuff to help DH's boys get going......Lifestyle changes, such as no alcohol, smoking or caffiene and a good sperm friendly diet. Get him some of the conception vitamins for men, they improve morph (My DH's problem) improve swimming and all sorts of things!
Also try one of the sperm friendly lubes......Preseed for instance has something in it that wakes the sperm up and makes them seek out the egg.....I find it also helps keep it all up there...(TMI I know sorry! hahaha)
My hubbys morph was 3%......After these few changes he's risen to 10%......You can get a bfp from your hubbys results......We managed it last year but I m/c'd.
Im now on cycle 3 of clomid and FX with hubby's changes too we can get that bfp!
Fingers crossed for you my lovely and bag loads of baby dust. Keep up some PMA xxx

Rudeollie is right hun! Things can improve with diet and life style changes. I don't have any success story but wanted to wish u loads of luck! Plus ur counts are not that bad and motility is lower then what they expect but still not terrible. Don't rely on this one test alone. Take 3 months to improve diet and get ur DH on some good vitamins and then repeat the SA.

:hugs:

Thanks rudeollie and bigfoot, I really appreciate you replying and the advice.

We are going to get onto a regimen for DH next cycle for sure, so the tips are really helpful thanks. I was so hoping that clomid would do the trick, I didn't really see this one coming..

I really hope you guys get your BFP's soon too, I will keep an eye out for you both :hugs:

Hi Ladies!

I am happy to find some recent posts on this. We got my DH's SA back a few days ago and it is just sinking in now. His motility is only 40% - his doc suggested drinking more water and taking vitamins. DH is also cutting out the periodic cigarette he would have when drinking, but not the drinking itself. His doc said 1-2 beers a day is fine. I beg to differ but I already feel like I'm asking alot of him, I hate to press the alcohol thing. Anyhoo - we'll be trying those changes and re-testing in about two months.

Best wishes ladies!

Hi Girls - Just wanted to let you know all these things work! Like I said earlier, when they docs say you cant do anything.......YOU CAN! Low morph/motility etc and PCOS can make ttc a longer process but with the right tools you can do it!

I just got my BFP!!!!!!!!!! xxx

Congrats RudeOllie! Thanks for sharing the PMA and great news about your BFP!

Thanks honey! I will have my everything crossed for you.........My hubby cut out the cigarettes but still had a few drinkies on a weekend.....And along with everything I said above, it seems to have worked! xxx

Hi my DH's count was 16million with 30% morphology and only 8% moving quickly ,however we did still conceive on our own once.

I also have read you cannot trust just one SA it needs to be repeated because men can have lower counts some days then others.

my DH was on fertile aid for men. for 3 months and it did nothing.
however I have heard it works wonders for some men.

OMG Rudeollie!! Congratulations!!!!!!!!!

So happy for you and this really makes me feel better knowing you guys had a similar challenge! That is great news :hugs:

Momof4, thank you for your comments too. I'm not giving up hope just yet!

Jaimie, I hear you about trying to get the DH to comply. I feel like such a nag, but he drinks like 4 cups of coffee a day and he smokes. Whereas I don't smoke, I gave up coffee and I stopping drinking booze (well except for the occasional bit of wine!) about 12 months ago. It is frustrating!!!

Anyway, the doc also said it might not be lifestyle and that he could have a variococele so we might look into that too.

Babydust to us all - and sticky vibes to you Rudeollie!

I am really happy I can offer hope for others in our situation.......Been there, done that, worn the tshirt and now I have a bfp! IT WILL HAPPEN honey xxx

I am sending you ALL my pma supplies ok xxx

MOMO - It takes 3 months for each supply of sperm to build up so your hubby needs to keep up the vits for a good while xxx Mine has been on vits for a year xxx TOTALLY agree with you on the SA........They range each month, its untrue how different they can be xxx FX for you xxx
