my placenta was 2.4cm from the cervix opening at 32 weeks. I have been told it is possible I will need a c section and it is unlikley that it will move up given how late i am into the pregnancy:nope:. My fingers are crossed as I was really looking forward to a natural birth. Some other mid wives tell me it is still possible that it could move up. Then my doctor says he will monitor it but it is not worth the risk, it should be around 5cm? I think he said that?

Anyone been in my situation this late and had the placenta move up in the end? what was your outcome??? thank you!

Not really any help but i have same as you but still got fair few weeks for it to move

Fingers crossed for you

I would do some checking. Most of what I have read suggests that 2cm clearance is OK to trial a natural birth. I guess it depends on your consultant's (and your) tolerance for risk.

I was told 2cm by my consultant too who doesn't even refer to it as low lying placenta unless it's less than 2cm... and have read many other sites use the same measurement. So fingers crossed hun xx Hope somebody else in a simmilar boat can tell you there experience
