Hello,

I've finally decided to post in LTTC despite reading lots. DH and I have been TTC for 1 year and we actually had a chemical pregnancy in January (our 4th cycle). Since nothing else has happened we went to our GP last month and had blood tests (for me) and semen analysis for OH.

We got the results back. I'm fine. DH's sperm count was 4 million and 36% motile, 3% fast moving. That's all the info we were given over the phone from the doctor. I'm going to see her soon and see what's next but she has already referred us to the fertility clinic. Can anyone give any insight into his results?

Anyway, OH actually confessed that when he tried to do the sample he missed the pot. He'd been told to abstain for 2-6 days and had for 3 days but he missed the pot. Instead of just owning up and saying we'd have to wait to try and do it again in a couple of days he decided to quickly produce another sample. Does anyone know whether that will have impacted on his result? Would the first sample have been better?

Also, he has been taking Citalopram for 18 months, stopping two months ago. I've read online that this can seriously affect sperm count. Knowing that it takes 74 days to make a sperm do you think this could also be a factor in his low count? I'm so confused!

We're repeating the test this week to get the first sample and to see whether it is better than the last one a few weeks ago. I'm sincerely hoping so! Does anyone know what might happen next if SA is still low!

On top of this I really don't know how I'm going to cope at work seeing all the bumps and the subsequent babies! It's so hard! :'( In the mean time OH has started wearing boxers (was a tight briefs man before) and taking wellman vitamins and minerals. Please help :(
