I was just curious if any of you lovely ladies have been diagnosed with Luteal phase deficiency? I have the blood work next week to see if that is what is going on. The fs is convinced that this is the problem.

If you have LPD what has helped you lengthen your Luteal phase?
Have you had any success (:bfp:)?

Fs said clomid is our next step. Have you tried this for LPD?

Sorry I have so many questions, I am really hoping after 2+ years we have found the problem.

Thank you :flower:

I'm not sure but is it about the lining breaking down early? So maybe a lack of progesterone or possibly estrogen as well. But I'm not entirely sure. Clomid would help you produce good sized follicles so then strength your ovulation promoting higher progesterone.

Hi Maurie - I haven't gotten an "official" LPD diagnosis, but with consistently starting to spot at only 9-10 dpo I believe that's what I have. I tried lots of things - Vitamin B6/B12, all natural progesterone cream, Clomid for 6 months but none of them helped. What did help was Crinone - prescription strength progesterone - I've had a 14 day LP for the last 3 cycles with NO spotting. My Dr. didn't want to prescribe it at first since my CD24 progesterone test came back borderline normal, but I strongly believe it was the problem. Unfortunately it hasn't helped us get a BFP yet, but one thing at a time. GL to you!!

Thank you so much! I have my test either tomorrow or Tuesday. I am having a harder time with all the infertility than usual. I want there to be something wrong so we can fix it... I am just getting frustrated with the "all is normal" from the Doctors. And it doesnt help that they only do one test at a time . . .
Sorry about the little rant.

Thank you for letting me know what was helpful to you :hugs:

I have an LPD diagnosis from the OBGYN and ovulate so-so regularly (from what I can tell they don't think I have problems ovulating but then again the first while I wasn't exactly concerned lol newbie and all, but I've gotten a +OPK while not on Clomid) but I have EXTREMELY short cycles (anywhere from 18-21 days) and I usually would spot for 4-5 days beforehand; So my Dr decided to be proactive and prescribe me Clomid (50mg days 5-9 but this last cycle I spotted for 6 days again so they might be upping that to 100mg next month depending on if I continue to spot) to help mature a nice sized egg :) Which in-turn can up your progesterone.. well anyway my LP went from 7-9 days to 11-12. lol, I hope all of that made sense! :dohh:

I'm currently on cycle 3 for Clomid so fx'd it works!

:dust: and I hope all you ladies get a bfp :flower:

I totally understand about needing to rant - it is so frustrating to not know what is wrong - almost as frustrating as month after month of BFN's :hugs:
I've had a down day too, my younger brother's wife just had our family's first grandchild yesterday and today I got yet another BFN so I've been all out of sorts. I'm glad there are others who understand how rotten this whole IF journey is

Thank you so much! SO Clomid did help lengthen your cycle?
I have a 30-32 day cycle but I don't usually ovulate until CD18.
I have Fx'd for you!

Not knowing is very difficult, I think I would have a bit easier time coming to terms with it if I only knew. But being told everything should work fine and it doesn't frustrates me beyond belief!

It is really nice to talk to others who get it! who wont tell us to relax, but are there to give us a virtual :hugs:
