lump in neck?

ive found a lump on the right side of my neck where the main muscle goin down the side is.its about half way down.. ive never noticed it before but since my son has had lumps in his neck ive ben very paronoid about my own health too and has been feelin for lumps everywhere everday so now ive found this i keep mesing with it and wonderin if its part of my muscle or not??? have any of you got this.. im thinkin maybe im feelin for lumps thats not even there and my mind is doing overtime! thanks

my mom had a lump in her neck and they said it was a carotid bulb. I would check out any lumps there as there is a possibility for non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

Rachael22 go & get it checked out. It may be a simple inflamed gland taking care of you (fighting something off). Or like my brother-in-law it could be cancer, you never know and it's not worth delaying, especially if you have a little guy who depends on you. My bil went through 6 mnths of chemo, 10 rounds of radiation and has been given a clean bill of health. He had non-hodgkins lymphoma, idk what that is even now. But there was a super fast growing cancer that would have taken him in 6 mnths had he not got biopsied and a slow growing cancer. Ironically, the fast cancer was the easy one to kill, the slow growing one took everything medical science offers.

It's probably just a lymph node but I'd pop along and get it checked all the same.

didn't mean to scare you, it's just everyone in my family who has died, has died from cancer - my grandma has beat it 3 times and my great aunt beat it twice... so you can never be too cautious when it comes to your health any anomalous lump should be taken seriously then you celebrate when it is nothing serious good luck at your doctor's appointment.

hiya ive been to the doctors and she couldnt feel it at 1st i had to point it out lol but she sed its just a little gland and to leave it alone.. she also had one under her chin which she made me feel just so i wud feel better she said its normal to have the odd swollen gland ... feel so much better now and not gunna touch it n e more thanks for your replys too xxx
