Sometimes when I get engorged there are multiple hard lumps. Other times my breast are "smooth" but hard. Anyone else? Is this normal?

I get lumps when I'm REALLY engorged. I just make sure to massage them as much as possible before pumping or feeding and massage while pumping/feeding. If I'm just FULL then they're smooth but no lumps

Thanks, that makes sense. It's weird because sometimes I'll have the lumps when I pump 3 ounces, yet other times I will pump the same amount and just be full or completely soft.

I found it doesn't matter HOW engorged I am I almost always get the same amount when I pump unless I wait for another let down which takes ages!

Really? this morning my left was really lumpy (and it's usually not even very full in the mornings anymore) and I pumped 4 ounces. I've never pumped more than 3 ounces so I was super happy for my lumps!

Bumping this because I am curious to hear from more Momma's who have full supply if they've ever experienced "lumpy" engorgement? I am on a support group for women with IGT (Insufficient Glandular Tissue) because I am unsure if this was the cause of my low supply and want to be better prepared for next time. Someone said women with sufficient glandular tissue do not experience "lumpy" engorgement. True for those who can EBF?

I have ebf since six weeks, I had some early supply issues, and if I'm super engorged my boobs have lumps. It doesn't seem to have any effects, good or bad, for lo though.
