Hi all,

My 6.5 month old has dinner every night now but I think I want to Start lunches maybe too as he seems to get quite cross with us when we eat!

Ideas please?

His dinners consist mainly of veggies / fruits , occasionally some chicken.

Thanks

When we started weaning DS1 we gave him all sorts, usually whatever we were having. Sandwiches, pasta dishes, anything on toast. Along with fruits like pears, bananas etc. And veggie sticks like cucumber, peppers etc. Yogurts were always a hit. Snacks like organic cheese puffs were also really handy.

We kinda just chuck a loada stuff together.

At this age, ur lo won't be eating much anyway if he is being blw'd. Its mostly for fun and learning textures and tastes. X

For us, lunches and dinners have always been pretty much the same. So pasta, roasted or steamed veg, slices of whatever fruit, chunks of chicken or fish, sometimes a sandwich or something (hummus, cashew butter, avocado) spread on toast. Sometimes I also do soup with some bread to dip in it. Often our lunches are some combination of what we had for dinner ourselves the night before and something I can make quickly (sandwich) or pull out of the freezer.

Today we're having a sweet potato and broccoli pasty (I made a batch of these awhile ago and froze them uncooked to bake later) and some roasted sticks of aubergine and courgette.

We tend to have what my kids call a picnic lunch, so a sandwich or wrap, yoghurt, fruit, veg sticks and dip, pasta/rice/potato salad... whatever's in the fridge/cupboard/fruit bowl really. One of my kids likes a warm lunch sometimes so we might have omelette, fried egg and toast, spaghetti/beans on toast etc but my older daughter will always ask for a picnic lunch instead :)
