So I have calculated my luteal phases for the last 3 months according to opks and cm. They are 13, 13 and 9. I have scheduled my apt for the end of june. should I consider myself average? or worry about that 9?

i wouldn't worry about the 9. you could have had your O date wrong that month.

I wouldn't really worry, unless you have another month or two of a 9. But if you're really worried, you could always take B-complex vitamins to help keep your LP over 9 days.

Can I ask how you calculate the luteal phase and what it tells you? I don't quite understand that....

I actually take vitamin b complex, prenatal, vitamin D, coq10,and omegas. I judge my O by opks since temping never is consistent with me. And I calculated it through a website of enetering dates. Hopefully it is nothing to worry about and will mention to doc the end of june.

Crystal- if you temp, you'll know what day you ovulated. The luteal phase is the time between ovulation and AF. You want a long LP because this is the time for implantation; if it's too short, the egg may not have a chance to implant. Definitely good info to know! :)

A good luteal phase is anywhere from 12 to 16 days. An LP of 11 days is okay. Anything shorter than 10 days is considered a Luteal Phase defect and should be addressed because there's not enough time for the egg to implant before the lining begins to shed. B6 or B-complex is good for adding an extra day or two on the end of an LP

I've got a short LP as well - 10 days with spotting the day before period starts. Not ideal.

I've been taking B6 and Vitamin C this cycle, really hoping that it does the trick and lengthens it so that the egg has time to implant!

I had a few 10 day LP cycles myself, so I'm taking B-complex to help when I'm not on progesterone. The progesterone takes care of my LP issues though, so when I'm on it, I have a much longer LP. I'm hoping it's going to pay off this month....

I have a ten day LP and am seeing a dr in a week or so. HOWEVER I did start a thread in the pregnancy forums asking if anyone had conceived with a short LP, and there were lots of women :-) it's possible, but definitely work seeking medical advice/reassurance if you're worried

FX! This was the thread I posted

well, lp was a 12 this month. happy its longer, unhappy that I have no baby :(

Sorry about af, JJ. *hugs* But you're on to a new cycle, and another shot. Stay positive. And maybe have a big glass of wine.
