This is a total long shot but I need advice.
This is a bit of a long story sorry.
Since Jan this year, I noticed a small pea sized lump on the right side of my neck. I went to the doctors and was told it was probably a viral infection and was sent on my way. In April, I noticed the lump was larger and there was a second lump on the other side. I went back to my GP and was sent away again saying a viral infection can linger in your system for months. I took their advice and went. In July I could feel that the lumps had grown more but still like a large pea size so I again visited my GP, this time this new GP referred me to the hospital to see a consultant. I went at the beginning of August and was advised I needed a CT scan. I had a CT scan of my head to my groin. Then on Aug 24th I had a tonic clinic seizure at work baring in mind I'm not epileptic. Over the two weeks I had 4 tonic clinic seizures. I had a MRI of my head which was clear and a lumbar puncture which the initial results have came back clear but it's been sent for further analysis. While in James cook hospital, north tees hospital rung to tell me I had to go in to see a surgeon the following day. I asked the consultant at James cook what was going on and he told me that my CT scan was abnormal and explained all about non Hodgkin's lymphoma. I went to see the surgeon who said they were going to do a biopsy on my lymph node the following morning. They told me that I had two areas of enlarged lymph nodes which was in my neck and chest area.
Now I have had the initial results of my biopsy which stated the biopsy was normal but it was being sent to a heomatologist. I thought all was fine but at another unrelated appointment the consultant said if they had no concerns, it wouldn't have been referred on. And when I asked if I was cleared of having NHL he said no, there is still a possibility.
I'm now 3 weeks post op and don't know really what I've to expect. To top it all off, since the op, I can't lift my right arm up or even put my hair in a pony tail. My shoulder is incredibly painful and when I saw my GP today to get my sicknote stopped as I am wanting to return to work, she said it can take up to a year for my nerves to heal in my neck.
Has anyone had any similar experience or had a lymph node biopsy?
