Hi ladies, I know we all have read about the benefits of maca and royal jelly on egg quality. for the people who have used it, do you use it throughout the whole cycle. Would love direction! and success stories?

Know a woman who used macca and and you stop when you o and i have read about royal jelly and consudered using it and it said to stop using at o.

I have taken royal jelly for egg quality. I stay away from maca though because I read of some womens FSH spiking while on it.

Hi Pirate! Looks like we are about the same age judging by your screen name! I took just about every supplement under the sun when I was TTC my second child at age 38-39, including Maca and Royal Jelly. I also took wheatgrass, coq10, baby aspirin, b12, EPO, and some others from time to time. I had my FSH tested and it was very low for my age--5.9. I don't know if the supps had anything to do with it because I don't know what the number was before I started taking it.

I eventually stopped taking so many supps because I didn't notice any physical changes and I was tired of taking so many pills and paying so much money. I was tested, had a lap done, and nothing was wrong with me. AFter 2 years of trying, it turns out my hubby's sperm was the problem, so if your SO is also 40+, he should definitely be taking supps as well.

I am starting to gear up to TTC a possible third (and last) child in about six months. This time around, I am taking a prenatal, coq10, baby aspirin and L-carnitine (powdered form in juice) for my egg health. Coq10 especially is universally recommended for egg health and I take it in powdered form because it is cheaper and can be mixed with food. I like baby aspirin because it really does improve blood flow to your reproductive organs.

I think Maca is more for regulating your cycles rather than improving egg health, but it can't hurt either way. Royal jelly I believe is good for it's high b-vitamin content if you believe that is an issue.

Good luck! I've seen many women on this board get pregnant with high FSH so don't lose hope. If you have regular cycles then all is probably well!

Hi, pirate! I experienced taking Royal Jelly at the beginning of my fertility journey. Unfortunately it didn't work out for me. The doc gave us 5% verdict of conceiving with them. But still I look the supplement in hope he mistakes - lol. (We applied for egg donation IVF in Ukrainian Biotexcom finally).
Actually I've come across several posts women saying they got benefit from using the stuff. (Only 2 posts as for maca it seems). I guess it is better to discuss with your doc as he knows your whole situation.
Good luck x
